Yeah. 25fps. But even without hairworks Witcher 3 is still a very Nvidia biased game. I am a fan of my 390x lol. It's an excellent card and maybe 40% at most behind the 980Ti in the most Nvidia biased games.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBp4ANrX8rk
Claiming to get 60fps at 1440p with hairworks off and LOD at high is COMPLETE BS. I know for a fact because I've played the game and know other people who have a 390(x) and also play witcher 3 at 1440p. 1170/1750 on the 390x won't bring it to Fury X performance. You'll get a 10% boost at MOST. Witcher 3 is like Crysis 3. It's very hard to maintain 60fps constant with one card at resolutions higher than 1080p. However, 2 390x's is perfect for maxing 1440p.

I'd also look at something like the 1200P2, 1000G2 (quieter than the 1300G2 for some reason) or 1000P2. But EVGA all the way for me.

Other than that, I just tested the Witcher a bit. 1440p, Hairworks off, foliage distance at high and I had my card at 1175/1725MHz with +100mV. I was seeing about 55fps average. FRAPS reported an average of 73FPS, but I forgot to turn the benchmark off and it also recorded for a few seconds while I was in the menu, with FPS well in the 2000 range, so I guess these results are useless. What's concerning is that my card hit 83C in no time and it started artifacting like there's no tomorrow. Damn, I gotta change that thermal paste... Maybe I'll just apply some of the MX4 I have lying around and be done with it.

Regarding your FireStrike scores, I think maybe it's because you have a Sapphire card, and those have 2x8-pin power. The MSI with its 8+6-pin may be power-throttling at those higher clocks. Either that, or there's something wrong in my setup. I'd appreciate if someone with an MSI 390x could post benches at very high overclocks with high (>+100mV) voltages.
I don't know if the 60FPS claim is true, as I haven't tested myself, but it's not unrealistic either. My rig is pushing 40-50FPS with Hairworks enabled (Albeit at a low preset without much AA for it) at 1440p when in the wilds, out of White Orchard (Or whatever the village in the first quest is called, I haven't really played the game yet). I'd guess disabling Hairworks will land me in the 60s. Foliage distance does have a big impact on performance, but not on image quality.

Gotta love Sapphire. biggrin.gif

As a correction to an earlier post, my FPS fluctuate from 50-60, sometimes peaking at 70.

I'll run a 15 minute FRAPS benchmark and report results.

Good thing about the Witcher is that it's properly coded, so it's easily playable even at 40FPS. Sure, it may get a little choppy at times, but it's not lagging like crazy and the controls are fine. Inquisition, on the other hand, would get 10 different kinds of messed up if my framerate wasn't high enough. Gotta love CD Projekt Red.

Can anybody tell me the VRM and Core temps of the PowerColor PCS+ 390. And is it really that bad for OCing as I've heard?

I wouldn't call the OCing bad, just not great. At +100mv I was able to get 1150/1600.

Furmark for 10min at those clocks:
Core: 71c
VRM1: 72c
VRM2: 68c
Fan: 72%

The fan does wind up at those speeds and is pretty loud, but during gaming I can barely hear it, it usually stays at around 40% and temps stay around 60-65c.

Thanks for the info. Good temps indeed, especially for Furmark. But I'd feel kind of uncomfortable with +100mV.

I've also heard (tongue.gif) about the noise complaints, but I don't care much about it.

Do you have The Witcher 3? What kind of fps you get? I'm hoping for Ultra settings with Shadows and Foliage Distance @ High, and maybe HBAO if there's some performance to spare. HW Off obviously.

Yeah, I usually just run stock speeds. I don't have The Witcher 3, haven't really had a chance to game much in general. smile.gif
