What do you mean expensive? I know people are a bit cheap when buy used stuff. For example here in Canada trying to sell R9 290 + Water Block for $300 is too much to ask considering a new 390 cost $440 + 15% Tax min. Is that fair?

Cheapest 290x I've found is $340, XFX, basically the same price as a new R9 390.

In what way is a 290x a better card than a 390x?

Mmm, why? It's basically the same price, with double the VRAM and local warranty.

its better than 390 for sure and same card as 390X only without 8gb memory

290X is 10% faster clock for clock than 390 (on same frequency)
same speed as 390X

Oh, thought you were comparing the 290x to the 390x. I'd still choose a new 390 over a used 290x though. 8GB RAM + Warranty.

Same here. Problem is 390 new where I live is basically $200 more then used 290X. Just does not make sense.
