Some of the funniest ghetto rigged cooling you've ever seen for sure!!! haha

Back then custom water cooling could cost you a FORTUNE, and you NEVER saw it on GPU's without custom made blocks. Crazy how much things have changed!

Sorry for the trip down memory lane, just you talking about using a small dorm fridge to cool your loop took me back!! lol

I've already got it fitted to the base for my case. The big silver box in the pic is the perfect size to fit it right inside. = )

I'm sure it won't break any records, but its just so much fun seeing how much more over stock these things can do in the right conditions. Chillers are very tempting to me... but I'm not ready yet.

What's impressive, is how well MSI did on the VRM cooling with these on air. 57c under 4k load with 60mv+ last night...... pretty impressive

I would like to give a go at water since EK has blocks for these now, but this thing is at the end of it's life cycle for my purposes, an I'm probably 6 months out from a different card (at which time I do want to definitely water cool).

Lol, you should try out playing Rise of the Tomb Raider. The only game ever broke a 90 degrees milestone on my MSi 390. On 1080p... So far, the max I ever saw was like 80-82 in Batman Arkham Knight while playing it maxed out at 3200x1800res. However, at least ROTTR runs great despite everything, and it doesn't seem to present a problem for my system, although I'm aware it would if I kept my stock CPU cooler.

Hi guys, been a while since I posted. Any recommendation for software related FAN issues? I'm pretty sure it all started with the Crimson drivers. I heard there were issues, but didn't notice any with the 1st Crimson version.

1 out of 3 boots, fans would stay stuck at 28% speed, and won't detect the custom fan profile in Afterburner. Would hit 80+°C when I don't notice.

Had to uninstall afterburner and go with crappy Trixx, but now fan spikes to 100% according to my sensors. Very weird. Hope there is fix with the drivers released yesterday.

Okay guys, here is the MAX flicker/artifact free, and 1 hour game stable clock I have achieved....

1195/1750 @ 88mv/50mv

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10949988

1200+ will run pretty good, but it gets a little flicker here and there in FS, and going to 100mv makes it worse. I imagine on water it would really do nice....

The VRAM doesn't like anything over 1750.... going to 1760 causes a 100 point drop from ECC, and going to 1740 was a 20 point or so drop, so I just left it at 1750.

Here is the BIOS for anyone wanting to help with a nice modded BIOS wink.gif@mus1mus biggrin.gif

The reason it does better at 1750 is because of how the timing straps are written. 1750 is the highest you can go on those timings, hitting 1760 puts into the next strap and also at slower timings and thus scores worse as only 10mhz is added. I believe the next max timings are at 1875mhz. Many of us here just run the max strap for set timings. So 1500, 1625, 1750 etc. If it can't hit those you just go down to the next strap and call it a day.

Heres my best score with my XFX 390x at 1200 on core and 1700 on memory. Just slight artifacting. With sapphire trixx running 50% power limit and 75mv extra. Max temp in the benchmark was 79 on core and 71 VRMS.

Seems low compared to others scores, whats your guys opinion
