Im curious but what psu are you using? And are you using daisychain power cables, ie a single pcie 8pin that splits into another pcie 8pin.

Instability at stock is obviously cause for rma.

But if you have two cards that don't work i would assume the problem is not those cards. More likely the mobo, psu, or drivers.

The white snow artifacting is usually from an unstable core. Raise voltage or lower clock to stabilize it.

I have tried the cards in a friends system to rule out any issue with my computer.

My power supply is EVGA Supernova G2 Gold 850W.

I am not daisy chaining EVGA has the 8pin + 6 pin on a single cable,

If i drop that card back to 1040mhz -20mhz from stock it seems stable and doesnt show artifacts.

The OTHER card artifacts also but not nearly as much , but it also is terrible card just +10mhz on any of these cards increases the frequency of the artifacts by alot

Yea def RMA especially if you tried it on a different system and got the same result.

8-pin & 6-pin on the same cable is basically similar to daisy chaining. Use separate cables for each PCIe connectors.

Nice flowers i got a pic just like that haha.

Its what i meant but its kinda hard to understand. Basically use 2 SEPARATE cables for each 8pin. I think he means each cable has an 8pin and 6pin but hes using 2 cables. Ive def heard issues and problems on the 290/390 series of where daisychain CAN cause issues but its not impossible. The fact that both cards have issues isn't a good thing.

Im curious as to what oc and what not the cpu has and what else the system is using. Could be that its getting excessive voltage ripple and the -20mv adjustment on the cards stabilizes it, but he did try it on another rig as well so who knows.

Happily, I won't be buying any Nvidia cards this generation. So glad they screwed me over so nicely on the 970. It really made things a lot easier for me. Now I only have to buy from one brand of GPU's. AMD that is.

Thanks Nvidia for making my life so much easier. Now I can buy from a good brand instead of a bunch of thugs with no morals or business ethics. biggrin.gif

Nice knowing you Nvidisuck.

This is how the cable looks it is 8+6 on the one cable, the only way to crossfire using EVGA 850W G2 Supernova is by using these two cables 8+6 on the single cable. The only bundled cables are 2x 8Pin or 2x8+6.... it was confirmed on EVGA forums by EVGA staff member that this is perfectly normal to use this cable like this - it is how it was intended to be used.

my cpu is running stock standard no overclock at all.

The card did the exact same issue in a totally different computer I think we can rule out any issue with my PSU/Machine by now, surely.
