If anyone is interested, heres my findings with Rise of the Tomb Raider in dx11-dx12 and the new patch. As we can see, dx12 is FAR better.

cpu overhead limits a lot.
the min fps arising is a good sign.
sadly not enough games/engines with dx12 yet.

Yea its def cpu taxing. The game is a lot more then the first one and looks fantastic, especially in utlrawide. Picked it up on the steam sale. I cant monitor in game though since ab doesnt work in dx12 and FRTC doesnt work in dx12 either, but she stays in freesync range anyways so its all good.

Those with 390 are you looking at the rx480 wishing it was a faster 490/fury2 ?

Im so keen for an upgrade wanting AMD to hurry up for enthusiast grade

Something like that. I'm waiting for a <= 500e card (that's the price of gtx 1070 here). I always buy cut-down version of AMD chips as they offer incredible price/performance. So cut-down Vega.

490 should probably be out years end.

I was wondering why my card was running at 54°C today. Turns out i forgot to set my pump speed, back to 75% and its back to 45°C phew. Damn high ambient mad.gif

Temps, not Voltage. You can pump +400mV as long as you keep the card within 60C and the VRMs.

I have a guy willing to trade Nitro 390s for my 290X and a 290 with blocks. I'm gonna miss my cards when they're gone. frown.gif

Hi airflow case is encouraging. I was just browsing in here thinking I may get an idea and you guys may be my answer. Thank you. I have 390 Strix dc3. I bet I can fry eggs on but hardly crashes. It's pretty fast and buttery smooth. I get off a night of CoD AW or BF4 and I see temps 92c/86c. It cools instantly and a few minutes, 56c/59c. My clocks are 1140/1600, +32mv. It doesn't crash much but I'm not interested in going further because of those temps.
I feel pretty lucky I got blessed with such a good card. It's a monster in close quarter games. I wish every player could have one.http://files.overclock.net/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Right where you should consider calling it a day.

If you add another 50mV, temps will rise faster and higher.

Those are hot. Yeah. Is 1100/1625 not enough for you?
