I don't get the OC3D review. I've looked through most of the benches and looks like it's being kicked around by a 980 in some scenarios, yet they sing it's praises at the end giving it a gold award?
Most reviews are showing that AMD vastly overstated how well this card will overclock... unless a lot of the press just got dud samples, this does not look like a very good overclocker at least with initial silicon.

They also mentioned pump noise being annoying, even on idle:
"One thing that is not shown in this graph though is the high pitched whine that is present 100% of the time with our review sample powered up. The sound is clearly part of the pump mechanism and I know from discussions with other reviewers that this is a common problem in the launch samples. AMD addressed this to me in an email, stating that the issue was limited to the initial batch of engineering samples and that the issues had "been resolved and a fix added" for all production parts going on sale to the public. Obviously we'll have to wait for reports from the field to verify that.
I will say that installing the R9 Fury X into a chassis, or even just putting a piece of cardboard between the open test bench and my head resulted in the sound nearly being imperceptible. Still, this is a concern worth keeping an ear on."
My personal opinion of this card after looking at the performance numbers and considering the memory amount is that it should be priced at $599 and then it'd be at the perfect spot for the average high end buyer.
Only real exception being SFF where even higher pricing would be a non issue.

I hope otherwise it is time to climb in the pen and write some angry but polite emails to AMD which they will once again not respond to. About how they pictured an unreal image of "an overclockers dream"
