MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G Card overclocks and pictures - Page 275

post #2741 of 3325
Is EK currently the only company with a block released for this card? I'm looking to add my GPU to my loop so I don't have to crank up the fans so high during the more taxing games and tasks.

A full block, yes.

Just ordered G10+H55. Will offloading the cooling allow me to see a lower power usage? I hit the power limit even without adding voltage with the stock cooler.

I don't think so.. Fans only draw a few watts. Are you overclocking?

Watts = Amps x Volts.

You'll find that most computer fans are 2 watts or under.

The fan on the left is 0.08A x 12V = 0.96W

The fan on the right is 0.05A x 12V = 0.60W

Those Noctua fans say the wattage on them. I don't think most do. I mean, in theory I guess every watt helps, but, you'd have to be pretty hard up to really miss a few watts.

Being a couple of years old but I find that Crysis 3 determines stability even faster than Witcher 3. That engine when maxed punishes any card even this high end.

Yeah. Guess I'll try a custom BIOS.

EDIT: Just fixed it moving the power limit to 125%.

Quite surprised by how easy it is to modify/

Yeah the various MBT threads explain bios modding quite well. I'd say 10-20 minutes of reading at most is all you need if you just want to understand the basic stuff like modding power and voltage limits.
post #2750 of 3325
I used MBT to set fann to start at 700rpm = 30% fann speed up to 60.c card is cooler and more silens
