MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G Card overclocks and pictures - Page 278

I thought that people reporting between 50c and 60c on the G10 AIO was alluring, until I went full water block and only hit 40c at max. It is nice to be able to dump ~400W of heat (especially from the VRMs) outside the case with a reduction in noise.

Could be a reason for EVGA to put that big sign on the inside of the box lids, so that everyones first info is (also in capital letters):

"DO NOT RETURN TO THE STORE EVGA OFFERS DIRECT CUSTOMER SERVICE"

Yea, as much of a difference this AIO cooler makes, I could picture full on water cooling. Just things you don't come back from. I'm cool with my AIO for now though. Keeps my temps low and my fan noise acceptable at load.

Next go around I'll be moving to intel E series CPU's. Maybe at that time I'll look into water cooling. Should be awhile since I now only buy main components within their first month of release for my main rig. Nothing sucks worse then to buy that new part, and then have the new crap come out a few months later. biggrin.gif

My g10+h90 980ti oced never broke 47 on Heaven maxed out otherwise it stayed low 40s and under in gaming. For less then one watercooling pump/res. Its by far the best performance/price ratio. I only went full loop for the hell of it. Lol

Full loop looks much nicer wink.gif

Plus VRMs also get better cooling.

GPUs use direct to die cooling which is much more fragile and prone to damage. CPUs use an IHS which protects the bare silicon die.

Is there any need to run a different BIOS with a higher power limit, etc?

Depends what's holding you back and if you're watercooling or not.

Just upgraded from 2 x MSI 770's in sli to a single MSI 980ti.

Low ASIC score of 62.7% mad.gif

'Out of the box' Firestrike score - http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6392386

1451 / 2001 OC score - http://www.3dmark.com/fs/6402958
