MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G Card overclocks and pictures - Page 313

Ok thanks guys, so there isn't something wrong with my card, the GM200 is hot i think, way hotter than my previous card(gtx980).

It's very easy for me to put a fullcover waterblock and put the graphics card to the waterloop beause i already have a custom waterloop, but i don't want that because i think in ~2 months , nvidia will launch new cards on the market based on pascal core, the replacement for today's gtx970/980.

I think about selling the 980ti and grabing the replacement of today's gtx980 when it comes out.
I think that card at worst scenario will have at least the performance of 980ti and a tdp around ~180-200watt, and vram>6gb.

That card will be best for air (temps/noise) as my previous 980 was, there will be no reason to put a 180-200watt graphics card in waterloop, a good custom cooler (eg. g1 gibabyte or msi gaming) is more than enough for 180-200watt tdp grapics card with good temps and low noise.

I will be patient with the noise that the fan does at 90% , until the pascal gpu's come out!

its a judgement call for you.

put a block on it and oc it to get past Titan X, better temps and low noise. or wait... its up to you if its worth the wait. you could always grab a 2nd TI down the road wink.gif

I think it already went past a titanX because i oc'ed the card at 1450core and 7800memory with stock voltage and is solid for now for every game that i tested.

The only problem for me is the fan noise, because i must run the fan at 90% speed to keep the temps at ~80c.
With a wateblock i think i will be able oc the card almost at 1500core with dead silence and incredible low temps, but somethink tells me its worth to be patient with the fan noise, until the pascal gpu's come out:)

Not too shabby.

I'm wondering if I should just do the kraken G10 instead of a proper custom loop at this point, decisions!
