MSI 980 Ti Gaming 6G Card overclocks and pictures - Page 314

Probably 20-25c. On the stock cooler the card ran around 80c @ 75% fan speed.

I've had this card for a few months. I've only now decided to overclock it. It's still with stock cooling. Right now w/Afterburner and Heaven I'm getting 1640/2103. My temps are low 60's. Are these good numbers for this card and should I try to push it even more?

Something not right, I have the memory clock at max, core clock at +800 and still no crashes/artifacts. And temps remain 60-65 degrees.

It was too good to be true. Crashes now with slight overclocks. What I was doing was increasing the memory clock. Kept pushing it. Then it crashed at +750. So I backed it down 50 and started to overclock the core. Increased that by intervals of 10. Kept increasing and increasing. I went up as far as +800 and still no crashes. Temps remained in the 60's. So I checked gpu-z to see if the overclocks were reading properly and they were. I proceeded to increase memory core to max because I wasn't getting any crashes. I then said ***, I'll increase core to max being it was already at 800. Computer finally shut down. Restarted and wasn't able to achieve those overclocks again. Baffled as to why when I was increasing both clocks and they were showing in gpu-z that it wasn't crashing.

Which benchmarks were you using to stress test the card?

I would suggest using multiple stress tests to make sure your OC is ok, I have been at a crazy OC using 3dmark but it in reality im over 100mhz away from being able to pass Valley or some games.

I went out and bought a kraken and an H55 along with quality thermal paste. Installed both this evening. Temps are in the 20's at idle no overclocks. So I believe I installed everything correctly because with stock cooling I was getting in 60's. I proceed to overclock with MSI afterburner. I increased core 125 and memory 200. Then did the extreme HD test with Valley. Temps were between 50 and 60. I would say a 30 degree differential if I were still using stock cooling. I don't know if that is about right going to the kraken and h55. When I try to push core a little further I get crashes. I even maxed voltage. So right now I'm getting a very minimal overclock, which is quite disappointing having gone to better cooling. Is it possible a custom bios would help and if so where can I get one? Thanks.

Nobody knows which frequency you had before, because it`s depend on your asic. Better will be if you show GPU-Z screen.
