Hahaha, you're probably right. I'm actually cancelling superfluous credit cards right now. I'm going down to one main, which'll simplify the debt orders wink.gif

I think I'm a total of $7,000 into this years PC shenanigans. I'll definitely have to skip a few generations after this build. But, my last PC was a X58 build with a i7 930 D0 that's STILL snappy as hell and I only ever upgraded a GPU every 2. Lasted me, jeez, 5-6 years? I figure if I can build it right I'll push another 4-5 out of a X99, i7, Titan-X sli build for sure wink.gif

Yeah, I just sent out payment on the 5960x. It should ship tomorrow.

Ironically, I'll probably end up selling my current Mobo/Ram/CPU in my spare Phantom 820 case with the Seasonic 860 EVO and custom sleeved wires for nearly what I have into the 5960x/MSI X99 Mobo/Ram. Which means I'll only have ended up spending money on aesthetics... go figure.
I just added up everything that I've spent (and deducted what I've sold). I need to sell my 750D case and AX860 PSU, so that'll probably add up to $200 total At the moment, I'm siting at a little over $6800. I cant do this anymore. Once this build is done, I'm stopping. I'm not worried about the TX prices because I sold my 780 6GB on ebay for over $600 each, so I made $1100 after fees. So technically I only paid $700 out of pocket for the two titans.

I may order some custom sleeved cables when the build is done. I may even make my own. But not for a while. I almost sold my 4770k setup to go 5930K, but that would've been like an additional ~$700. good luck with that 5960X

Exactly. I cant be upgrading every year, so that's why I went to two Titans. Those should last me at least 5 years, even if I have to lower the res to 1080p. I don't want to get into the hassle of losing money everytime a new card comes out.

The 1300G2 is audible, but I've definitely had louder PSUs. I think most people complain about the noise because there's no switch to turn on a hybrid/eco mode where the fan only spins during load (the P2 PSUs have this switch though). Its the loudest fan in my system, but that's like being the only person talking in a room full of people whispering. It's still a top notch unit and that's the only thing anyone can find to complain about lol. For my perception the fan is barely loud enough to cover up both my D5's running at full speed smile.gif.

I hope my other fans will drown out the sound. I mean it wasn't that loud, but a little bit louder than my AF140 at full speed. I can still live with it though. I was going to use my AX860, but it's just not enough with two titans overclocked. At stock, yes. But OC'd is when it pushed that thing close to max and eventually my PC restarts.

And I'm picky too. Unrelated, but I used to own Corsair SP120 PWM fans. With the H100i, those things would rattle when mounted horizontal. I returned them and thought I wouldn't buy them again. Then when I went full custom loop, I sold the XSPC fans that came with my kit and upgraded to the 3 pin SP120's. Those things are pure quiet around 800rpm and don't rattle like the PWM versions.

I'd think that with that much rad space as you have that your fans should be able to run quiet enough that you don't notice them headscratch.gif. Like I said before the PSU fan is audible, but still quiet. Think about if that was the only noise coming from your machine. How noticeable would that be, and how easy would it be to tune out/cover up with noise from speakers? Ask one of your friends with an air cooled PC how loud they think it is lol.

I try not to think about what the bottom line is on how much I've spent over the years. I spend a budgeted amount every year and just go big on whatever I'm replacing, that's how my machine has worked its way up over the years. I also usually skip every other generation on platform/GPU (Broadwell-E/Skylake-E upgrade confirmed lol). I wouldn't say that the rig is more important than expenses like car, dwelling, social, etc., but at the end of the day it is my hobby. Just don't go taking out title loans or skipping meals thumb.gif.

Oh darn. Looks like I won't be getting the case before school starts back up.

Now my case will probably ship on 19th. If I receive it during classes, I most likely won't finish it for at least another month or two.

@MadHatter5045 and @TheCautiousOne, I just had a quick question regarding the length of the EVGA 1300 G2 PSU cables (I know TCO has one, and I think you do to MadHatter, right?). Are they long enough? I only have extensions for the 24 pin and GPU cables so I think I'm covered there. But I'm worried about the CPU cable. Does yours fit easy enough?
