But anyways, I'm thinking about using different TIM for my 4770k and TX's. I'm currently using the EK Ectotherm paste, but should I replace it with something else?

I've used the following in this order:
[1] Artic Silver
[2] IC Diamond
[3] Noctua NT-H1
[4] Phobya Thermal Grease
[5] EK/Gelid paste (a.k.a. Ectotherm)

None of them gave me any awesome advantage on temps, so meh. I don't recommend the first two for the following reasons:
  • Arctic Silver: This stuff is capacitive which means it'll short stuff out if too much is used or as it spreads/settles over time.
  • IC Diamond: Abrasive. This crap will scratch and scuff anything it touches when you try to clean it off no matter how careful or gentle you are. The business end of your block will be ruined and you can kiss your CPU's warranty goodbye because the laser etched writing on the IHS will be gone. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I'm currently taking down my loop and trying to salvage the coolant. This way I don't have to spend an additional $40. I'm surprised with how dirty my loop is. I ran mayhems blitz part one and two, and I'm getting all this gunk out of the Pastel Ice White. The coolant is still a nice white. Almost as if it's brand new smile.gif

I was using a handkerchief, but it wasn't filtering a good amount. So tomorrow I'm going to pick up some coffee filters like Mayhems said in the first place haha.

Anyways.... In an hour or two I'm going to blitz the radiators so I can leave them overnight. Tomorrow I work 10-7, and Saturday I work 9:45-6:45. I feel like I'm on limited time, so I'm going to try and get all the tubing routed and pumps mounted before Monday. I work Sunday 6-3, so I should be able to get a good amount done before school starts Monday.

I need to add a good two hours for myself to put the cas together, so I'm super excited. Case comes tomorrow smile.gif my F3-140ER's, Mayhems Flex Tubing, and extra 2 liters of coolant should be here Thursday.

When I had the stock cooler (I used it to see if my components were working) and the H100i, I just used the stock paste. But I was always told that AS5 was the best so that's what I always used. Once that ran out and I purchased my XSPC kit and I used the XSPC thermal paste (K1 they call it or something like that). Ever since I had EK blocks for my cards, I transitioned over to the EK Extotherm and started using that for my CPU and cards. I may just use the EK paste. I don't think I'll replace it though because I'm running a little low on it. It's only been used for about 3-4 months. Thanks

Radiators are blitz'd. Tomorrow morning before work I'm going to flush them out. I normally do the the full 12 hours. I blitz'd the RX360, RX240, and EX240 a few months ago, and I had a little left over from the RX480 and 560GTS, so I added more distilled and re-blitz'd the 360 and 240. The EX240 won't be used, so I'll be selling that.

Biggest update to date!

SMA8 has been delivered. Too bad I'm at work for another 7 hours frown.gif I'm going to head home on my lunch and start putting it together though. I'm so dang excited... More than when I opened up my first Titan X.

Luckily my brother was home to sign for it. I called him because I got an email, and he said it's a huge a** package haha.

Radiators are all clean, so once the case is put together I can start putting the puzzle together biggrin.gif

Thursday will come my 140ER's, and tubing, so I'm assuming I'll have the build down by next week or two.

Yesterday I ordered my fans, coolant and tubing. I completely forgot about the fan splitters I needed and luckily they showed up in the recommended section to remind me (after I placed order lol). So I placed the order for the three 3pin fan spliters. Then I forgot that I needed one PWM fan splitter for my Corsair LINK (this way I can run the four 140's on 4 different headers, and run the three 120ER's all on one header because the amps are only half of the 1A max, and then my PWM pumps via fan splitter on the last header). Well that was three orders. I didn't confuse them much at first, but then when I started to email them about what I did, two people would reply to the same email I sent making them and me more confused.

Well im glad all this happened, because PPCS got so confused and it go complicated that I just asked to cancel my orders and just order again to make it easier (this is all on me, not PPCS). HOWEVER, duke and Marina mentioned to me that the EK Vardar 140ER's had arrived. They just needed to be entered in the system. Marina told me to wait for them (she pulled four of them to the side for me) to upload it to the website and just make the entire order over again. So now in a few hours ill be placing my order for the 140ER fans biggrin.gif

I know certain individuals have issues with this company, but these people are the best. They may be hard to get ahold of over the phone, but when you do (even over email), they help 100%. I cannot recommend this company enough!

At present i agree there service to me here in Australia has been 100% all the way so far.

You bet! I had an hour lunch so I went home and got only so far haha. All I did was the top, bottom, mid plate, and backplate. It's kind of confusing, but then again I was on limited time. I'm off now, so I'm going to try and get it done case done by tonight. I'll probably start the drilling tomorrow.
