Appears to be stable at +150/+500 even with Power Limit set to 100%.

Pics below are with my side panel off and windows open (it's a bit cooler / rainy today).

OC is strange sometimes. My G1 Gaming with +135 on Core was boosting to 1535. While your is boosting to almost 1530 with +150 on Core. Strange.... Or is it part of silicon lottery?

Anyway, good OC. I had stable 1535 but I droped it to stable 1505 for gaming becasue those 30 gained me like 2-3 FPS so I prefered to downlock to 1505 just to be safe.

Is that 1535 at +135 Core on stock voltage or were you giving it extra?

I just slid the Core Voltage to max (+87 mV or 1.218v) to test and saw that at +150 Core my card is boosting to 1554. And again, even being at like 61/62C is causing it to throttle back down to ~1539.

Yes, it always throttles after 61. Mine is actually boosting to 1517 with current setting (+120 on core), but after 61 C is goes to 1505 and that is when I keep it.

I gave it voltage +70 when it boosted to 1535 (+135 on core). Now I am on +60 and it is fine for those 1505 I am happy with (+120 on core). At stock voltage and +135 core It was hitting voltage limit and downclock to 1490 but I gave it boost and whoopie!

Honestly I didn't test ideal voltage yet. So far I keep it on +60 but I could get it lower for those 1505 maybe..... I went straight from 0 to +70 at first, so yea....maybe I should test if I get it lower tongue.gif.

EDIT: well, it seems I can run my settings at +50 voltage also. Well, I will try tomorrow how low I can get. Should have done it before really.

OK

In my loop (2x360 x60mm & a 240x60mm rads with 2x DDC 3.2 pumps) I can (with EKWB full block) maintain 38c max temps in a controlled atmosphere ...... once fall/winter comes I will be able to maintain 24c. wink.gif

I can now hold 1585/8200 solid in every bench.

I use this bios which is very effective. I could use a higher tdp. wink.gif

Did anyone solved issue with not persisting thru reboot color of LED on this card?

It's true that his card might not overclock that well past 1430Mhz, but there is a much higher chance that it will. Lower voltages means less power consumption necessary, which means the stock BIOS may be able to run the card without throttling at 1530Mhz or something like that, a stellar overclock.

Yes I agreed with a Asic of 85% it would be strange if the card would not go above 1500 Core boost. Unless your very unlucky

So the original backplate is completely compatible with the delivered screws from EK to mount the waterblock?

I canceled my backplate from EK bcause it takes too long as they were out of stock again and was holding back my waterblock.

I can see you have little bit bended the backplate location of the back screws, why is that? was that needed to fit the backplate?

Mine doesn't change on reboot. Seems hit and miss here and there.

I think this may be due to the ASIC of the card. a lower ASIC @ +135 may only boost to say 1450 and a higher ASIC will boost to 1500(numbers are theoretical since I'm not at home to look through all my data. I do believe I noticed that trend when benching and testing though.

I also wonder what is the purpose of the original backplate?

As far as I can tell its there for nothing. its not even used as a passive cooling because if you look between the plate and board it the aluminium isnt even connected to the components.

Will a backplate even be needed for the EKWB waterblock? except for the fancy view, what purpose does that have?

In theory yes, I agree. But I have ASIC of 73,2% so not so high but my card easly boosts to 1517 with +120 on core, downclocking to 1505 after 61 C temperature threshold. This is with +50 voltage and 110 Power Limit.

Maybe I just got great OC card it seems. I didn't even try to push to its limits (max Voltage and core clocks till artifacts), since I am on air and I do not bench at all.

And my card LED color do not change on rebooty ONLY becasue I made OC Guru to autostart on system start. But without that it went back to white and I had to open OC guru to make it red again.

Pain in the back.....

my asic is 79.8% , i have voltage on stock, added +121 on core, it boosts to 1512, then settles at 1500.2mhz, , thats why i added the 1mhz to 120mhz to give me 1500mhz boost thumb.gif

for everyday gaming i think 1500mhz is the sweet spot , i wanna get memory to maybe 8000 - 7800 , but note sure its stable, strange i can play for 1-2hrs then it can give error, maybe need to add a little voltage

Thanks
