First off, Microcenter doesn't sell ANY $950 monitors that have G-Sync. The most expensive is $799.

Next up, they only sell 3 FreeSync monitors, NONE of them are $451. One is $379, one is $499, and one is $599.

So even if you give this person the benefit of the doubt, and look at the specs on the 27" Acer XG270HU (2560x1440), which is actually $50 more expensive than his numbers suggest, you are looking at a HORRIBLE 48-75Hz VRR window. Now compare that to the most expensive G-Sync monitor they sell (and ignore his price is $151 too high), the Acer XB270HU (2560x1440) monitor with G-Sync has a VRR range of 30-144Hz.

WAY BETTER than the FreeSync solution. Also, the REAL numbers are not $1700 vs $1100, it is $1548 vs $1248 ... a difference of $300.

That $300 gets you a MUCH wider VRR range (30-144Hz vs 48-75Hz), a faster card (ESPECIALLY when you overclock it), and working drivers that allow you to have multiple monitors and/or multiple cards NOW.

Now I know some people can't afford the extra $300, but to flat out LIE about the cost and try to say it's DOUBLE the difference (ie $600) is dishonest as sin.

Also, it just isn't 5FPS slower than the 980Ti Hybrid, it is

Cue up to 5:40 for all the OVERCLOCKED benckmarks ... including OC'd Fury X (which is water cooled) vs a GTX 980Ti Hybrid (which is also water cooled).

+15FP @ 1440p in Metro, +16FPS @ 1440p in Witcher 3, +18FPS @ 1440 in GTA V, +12FPS @ 1440p in Far Cry 4, +10FPS @ 1440 in Crysis 3, +21FPS @ 1440 in BF4.

When you OC BOTH water cooled cards, at 1440p, the 980Ti SMOKES the Fury X.

What relation with this thread? Oh you ? an AMD hater...

This x1000, I don't see how some people have the time to play games/ live life when I see them in every article bashing/defending one company or the other. It really is quite sad so much energy is expended for such an insignificant purpose.

Apparently you can't read a thread and see where a post was made about all that. I systematically dissected the post and shown it to be what it was ... a lie.

Try following the thread next time before TRYING to insult me.

The AMD hate train has gotten completely out of hand. I'm considering getting a Fury X just to spite all the Negative Nancys now.

Someone has to be the captain aboard the sinking ship. They could use all the help they can get at this point in time.

Let me know how those folding #'s are plix plox!

The amount of coil whine is different. Usually happens when running at high FPS.
