[TPU] EVGA Launches the GTX 980 Ti Classified for only $700 - Page 84

Mine did 1504 at 1.212Vcore, water block is arriving this week with any luck.

Has anyone tried custom BIOS to get 1.28+ Vcore?
I have already read that Maxwell doesn't scale like Kepler, just wondering is anyone has tried.

My only questions are,

Should I return my 3x SC+ 980ti's in exchange for these if I don't plan on doing benchmarks and only getting good performance in games?

If yes, are there waterblocks that support the non reference cards due to the PCB/VRM layout?

I ordered the XSPC 980ti blocks, which is why I'm asking.

Nope, Kingpins are really for those who want to do some extreme OC.

classys don't need a custom bios for more voltage; either use OVERBOOST in PX or the classy voltage tool
Classifiedv2.1.2.0.zip 852k .zip file

fyi, OSD readings for voltage isn't reliable - its likely higher. you may want to consider getting a probe it and DMM.

If you current cards are doing nicely at 1450-1480mhz I won't go through the hassle of changing them.

A friend of mine recently jumped through hoops to get a classy and now he's regretting it since he can't go over 1500 handlebarssmiley.png

Thanks ! <3 I figured as much, but peace of mind is always helpful when we're dealing w/ our type of crowd. Finally found my backplates ( XSPC ) on Amazon since PPC's were out of them, and F-CPU doesn't even carry 980 blocks from XSPC.

Just received my replacement 980 Ti Classy and instead of lock ups, I get crazy coil whine above 130 fps. I'm guessing the Classified line is no longer binned? Both cards were in the mid 60s for ASIC. I will try a third time and see what happens. Newegg wont let me return it, so my only recourse is a replacement, but I'm almost ready to just take the replacement, sell it and get a Titan X again.

EDIT: I just did a search for "1500" on this thread and what I see is very disappointing. Neither of my two attempts yield 1500MHz either. After looking around on other brands, it looks like MSI would be a good contender for hitting 1500 or higher. GB and Asus saw mixed reviews for overclocking.

yeah disappointing for a classy. Mine tops out at ~1500 on air and ~1524 on water. Good thing i bought it on a nice deal, otherwise i would have returned it on day 1.

Unless you mean the Lightning then no. I have an MSI Gaming and it cannot cut it at 1.5 GHz. Tops out at only 1472 MHz, not to mention it runs very hot for a 980 Ti, can easily hit mid-high 70s, which is not good considering how well the 980 Ti scales with temps. I think the Zotac Extreme is the best, a friend of mine bought one with 84% ASIC and his card can hit 1550 MHz gaming stable.
