I'm going to laugh at its existence until it proves itself. So why am I replying? Well, to simultaneously add my 2 cents and subscribe to this thread just to see if anyone really benefits from this program. If someone does, then I will want to know everything about their Windows setup, especially how many processes are running according to Task Manager and also what additional programs they have open while they're playing their game.

Of course, knowing what the CPU is and whether it's overclocked and how high will help too.

lol It probably is.

Ha, probably.

Yep, $20 snake oil if you take advantage of their supposed sale off their supposed normal price of $37.

Then you have the "What do our users think of us?" section. 4 different snippets and none of them really say much at all nor do they make me interested in this product.

The whole web page they have there screams "this is a money-making scam", in my opinion. Either that, or it's for people who are just happy that they know how to turn their computer on.

i could say the same about those tune-up utilities apps that speed your PC's performance by 2%

Yeah, and those are free. ;) lol

One thing to look out for when trying to see if you're looking at a snake oil type of program is, how much effort are they putting into trying to convince you that their product works? What methods are they using to try and convince you? Based on what I'm seeing on their website, it looks like they are trying to take advantage of the dumber people on this planet who are desperately seeking better gaming performance because they don't know how to optimize their system on their own. Then what happens if the program doesn't work for you? Is there a way to get a full refund?

Everything about their website rubs me the wrong way. Avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, avoid, etc.

No, I really don't. It's not hard to lie on the internet, especially if you stand to make a lot of money off of the people you're lying to.

Avoid this program. It's a money-making scam. Maybe it works for some people (MAYBE), but good lord, THIS IS OVERCLOCK.NET. We don't need silly programs like this. It's for stupid people. I'd be extremely surprised if it works as advertised.

I'd love to see how they handle refund requests!

To be fair it's through steam. Steam has refunds so if it's no good then you can just return it.

How long has this program existed? This question is open to everyone.
I have no clue. I'm skeptical myself but the fact that this dev is releasing it on steam at the very least says he has faith in his product. I'm willing to play the wait and see game based on that factor alone.

Either that, or he knows that this is a good way to scam a TON of people out of their money, people who are desperate for better gaming performance but don't know how to get it without buying a better video card or something super-expensive like that. To them, $20 is much better than $300 or $500 or more.

This is the first time I've ever heard of Process Lasso. So, think about that. ;) The developer of this CPU Cores program knows that there are a lot of people who don't know of any other way to get better performance, and so they are willing to pay for it.
