We are usually told mass shooters played video games all the time..............but most people are far more likely to fantasize about saving lives if some bad stuff happens............and who else hopes their video game, movie watching and documentary watching has actually made them a super solider..................Capable of saving the girls u like, and might impress ???????????

Well I know why they hate the commoners having guns, but yeah.........................don't most people here feel video games have given them a training, that they could use to SAVE lives ??????????????

There is a reason an entire section of training doctrine revolves around games. However, it is hard to reconcile with this post. If you want to be prepared to save lives, take CPR training from the American Red Cross. Go to night school for EMT training. Our hobbies are just that, hobbies, not altruistic sacrifices. No game can prepare you for traumatic stress, whether that of a Soldier, cop, or fireman.

Gaming is not going to make a you super solider but it will help you develop some skills that could help you in a combat like environment.

Take quick scopers for example, in order to be good at it you have to have very fast reflexes as well as good hand eye coordination.
These are skills/ability's that are developed.
Im not saying you will learn how to quick scope in real life from playing a game just gain reflexes.
Most modern FPS are not very tactical but the ones that are can teach you a grate deal.
For example, how to turn a corner so that you move past your enemy's line of sight or turn a corner in increments in order to control a section of the "pie".
Games can teach you allot about the math involved in combat, such as angles and portions.

If you have 1000 's of hrs on FPS games then you will have developed combat strategy's for a given situation.
That is FAR better then not having any experience at all.
Its kind of like reading a book, just because you read a book on heart surgery does not mean you can successfully perform heart surgery.

People that are good at chess usually develop good critical thinking skills. It depends on the game your playing, some have more to offer then others.
If your going to spend countless hours gaming you might as well gain something good out of it. Choose your games wisely.

There is a reason the US millitary uses combat simulators like ARMA to train soldiers.
