PSA: unlocked 8core for x79.. if you cared. - Page 7

The E5-1603 is also locked. (confirm tested by me). That should mean the E5 1607 v1 and v2's are probably also locked.

It would appear the only unlocked 1600 series would be the E5 1620 V1(43x + BCLK), E5 1650 v1 & v2, E5 1660 v1 & v2, and the E5 1680 v2.

For X79 anyway

Well for older cpu it pretty awesome!

about 980-1000 at 4.9ghz my 4790k or 955 at 4.7 with realtime priority

It seem like you can beat a 5960x

Can you post a Cinebench score you get with your max OC? 1600s a few of you are saying it looks like...

Are there any unlocked Xeons on the X99? It would be something to watch for as they become cheaper being recommissioned out of servers in a couple years. (If there are any that are unlocked that is.)

Got 1759 today at 4.9Ghz...

5960x' do better in this bench.

I noticed in 3dmark firestrike physics, 5960x do better, but the 1680 V2 does better in 3dmark11 physics from my findings.

Hm that seems on the lower side for 4.9ghz 8-core? I mean that's a super monstrous CPU but Haswell quad core does 1k at 4.9ghz and Skylake quad core does 1k at 4.4 - 4.5ghz. I would expect edging a bit more towards 2k with 8 Haswell cores + HT at that huge clock speed

Haswell-E architecture does better in cinebench than Ivy-E, could be an instruction set, not sure.

But in important benches like 3dmark (to me), the 1680 V2 hangs with the best of them.

Here is screenshot I took yesterday @4.9GHz:

if anyone is still interested.
