Subbed. Looks really cool. I suggest a powdercoating, I think it would look a lot better. Great job with designing your own case too, that's something to be proud of.

Yeah, something like that. I was thinking of using the quarter round extrusion you are using and just bolt a piece of angle to it to form a flange like you showed on the square tube you linked. The extrusion is designed to have things bolted to it through the slots using proprietary tee nuts so why not? I would use a sealant to prevent air leaks but the bolts would be holding the angle to the extrusion.

Ya that's pretty much my plan for most of the way around the panels on the sides and square tube for the top and in the middle to hold the magnets. That quarter round aluminum is 1 and 1/2 inch accross and is quite heavy. Very solid and was difficult to cut. I used 1 inch square profile for the rest of the frame so the panels would end up being flush with the edge of the quarter round outside frame for a clean look.

Thank you for mentioning that the square stock is smaller the quarter round. I totally missed that little detail. Using smaller square stock would take care of a problem or two I was wrestling with.

Looky at what I found. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J3VURH8/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3996BDCIT3UQP&coliid=I30K4W7UZO5UX1 80/20 also makes it with two flanges on opposite sides from each other and 90° from each other.

Very cool! It would be way lighter and cheaper than the X profile T slot I used. The only advantage of the T slot is that you can assemble it and move things around, make adjustments and change the design. But if you build it in Cad first that shouldn't be an issue.

As i said earlier, the tax man gives... and then the tax man takes away...
So no new video card, motherboard, processor or RAM this year and I will have to use my old stuff to get this build up and rolling. Them probably in February or March I will see what is available (hopefully Broadwell E? who knows!!??)

For now I will be moving over parts form the Fugley computer.
  • Gigabyte X58 UD5
  • Intel i7 930
  • 12 GB triple channel RAM
  • EVGA GTX 680 4GB

I just got some goodies from performance PCs
  • 2nd Rad (480)
  • Heatkiller CPU block
  • Heatkiller GPU block

I have to say, that GPU block is MASSIVE!!! it weighs a TON!! SOLID COPPER MONSTER!!! Hope it performs well!
