I bought a few R9 290x's for around $175-$200 not that long ago off ebay lightly used they upgraded to titan X's and were just trying to recoup what they could in short if you look around you can find killer deals on R9 290X's / 290's just got to look can almost get 2x 290x's for the price of a single R9 390X and 2x 290X's will eat a single 390X alive.

I meant new, not sure if you're talking used cards but good prices anyhow

your airflow on pcie should be good since it is air cooled

And some people reduced the core temp by applying new tim to the cores since powercolor sometimes uses too much tim

Those were used prices like new cards some were about a week to a month old GPUs.

Is this for a different PC? Your sig rig suggests you have a 970 already.

You don't need much to keep csgo at the desired 200 fps mark.

Finally have some results worth reporting to the thread from a reputable source.

Techpowerup just tested a 390 Nitro. And they use up to date drivers and retest every card unlike most sites including a stock 390 and a stock 970.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Sapphire/R9_390_Nitro/23.html

390 is 4% faster than 970 at 1080p.

390 is 9% faster than 970 at 1440p.

390 is 13% faster than 970 at 4K.

Pretty good, doubt anyone would play 4k with neither card tough, however 1440p sounds good.

Finally.

Now to wait for DX12 and 970 is as good as dead. Or any game released a year from now and that 970 won't run it cause of crap memory.
