Why buy a i5 4670 when you can get a i5 4440 for $20 cheaper?

thats the entire premise, discard the entire lineup in favor for three categories, ULV variants, those without IGP, and those with Iris Pro.

though same could be said for AMD's CPUs, why buy FX-8350 when you could have an FX-8320 for $20 cheaper?

According to PCGamesHardware.de, the information is not true (quoting der8auer) and only K models will do BCLK straps overcloking frown.gif

IE us PCGHX member and presenter made der8auer attention to the overclocking with Skylake-S CPUs operate via BCLK only with the K-models - ie to those that can be overclocked already via multiplier anyway. On the Non-K processors PCI Express clock was still bound to the BCLK, which is why the latter as well as could already be raised at Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell and Broadwell only a few megahertz. Core i7-6700K or i5-6600K owner could squeeze a little more out of the silicon cycle so nevertheless still.

we are not talking about BCLK straps we are talking about the base BLCK as it is now unlinked from pci-E (and sata?) no need for straps in this type of ocing

the straps where added in with sandy bridge-e to allow bclk oc ing with out touching pci-E and your sata controller frequency almost completely useless for anything but an i7 3820 witch had an locked multiplayer or higher ram frequencies.

cant wait to see if they really added it back on non k sku's as then skylake now becomes the ultimate budget gaming cpu biggrin.gif
