Tri sli now?

Thread Starter
With Dx12 here, I was pondering the idea of going tri sli by the end of the year.
I was using 6.5 gb memory in Witcher 3 today in 4k, so it sounds like the benefits of ram usage are true.
What do you guys think, should I do it? Never had three gpus before, would the middle and top be too starved of airflow?
My 970s are blower style sc editions.
Also I had concerns about having to exactly match the third card. I read other users have had problems when position a different brand of 970 with an EVGA one.

I would hold off on Tri SLI until actual DX12 titles come out. In theory it's an excellent idea but actual implementation is different. LucidLogix Virtu GPU tried to pair integrated and dedicated GPUs before but now there's nothing. The tech while it did somewhat work was very buggy. But MS has the resources to throw around so it maybe different. Still I'm not going to hold my breath.

Blower style coolers more suited for muti-gpu implementation over the open-air coolers. Most of the heat is exhausted versus being circulated inside your case.

I'm pretty sure it's an issue with Wiin10 where the same GPU can't SLi together. So holding off getting more cards is probably the best idea.

Well i read that we will be seeing Dx12 titles this holiday season.
I suppose I can wait to see if multi gpu gets as big a boost as they say, and waiting till end of year for another gpu will likely get the best deal.
I also wonder if my pissy could handle another 970
