In the last E3 gameplay montage, you can see a guy wearing a red dress and holding a sledgehammer (at the beginning of the montage) and another shot of a guy later on hitting a guy in the face with a bat.

There's also a shot of the player pistol whipping someone. Maybe a perk?

*edit* Unarmed, not melee. Never mind. I'm sure it's there, though. I don't see why it wouldn't be there.

so, basically, add all the games up I've ever played in my lifetime, and that's how long it will take to finish Fallout 4. drool.gif

Great, I found the only game I need for the rest of my life. How much is this? $60-ish? Wow that's a bargain! thumb.gif

400+ hours of gameplay? The claim maybe worth something if it wasnt coming someone standing to gain from the sale of said game. I could walk around aimlessly in any open world game for 400+ hours and claim the same thing. Considering the amount of vast content the game has you'd think bethesda could spare a few measly minutes of official gameplay a week before launch.

Witcher 3 said 100+ and i would have to say they where spot on. Even if i did not run around and do everything I would still hot 100 hours to finish the game. The thing is 400+ is too much for SP game. I got bored of Witcher 3 at 100 hour mark. Not because the game got boring but the world got boring. The only way to get 400+ hours worth of content is if you have a map 4 times the size of Witcher 3 with that is not empty.

The quote below is the most important part of the article...

Gardiner went to say that this is partly the result of the game's crafting system, which sounds fairly extensive and intricate. He also talked about how players will need to scavenge for very specific items.
That says it all. Still the same old formula - wandering around, finding 'stuff'. Of course there will be tons of side quests but Bethesda likes to make people wander in their games. Don't get me wrong, Fallout 3/Skyrim/etc. were fun but their basic premise (also throw in the paper-thin main storylines) has gotten very stale over the years.

Looks like next paycheque I'll be picking this up. Hopefully it'll be on sale with GMG or something because Im not paying $80 Canadian for a game.

I sense crap load of repetitive quests that's trending in western RPGs. Find # of sandwichs for me and I'll give you imaginary experience points because you're the game world's errand boy. Find my lost dog in the sewers while you're at it.

Fallout games are one of the few games where given the settings lots of scavenger quests make sense.

Meh, 350 hours of which will be repeated stuff or padding just like almost every other open world game.

When will people ever learn?
