I don;t believe it is. And bashing manufacturers certainly cannot be... else half the threads would be locked for cleaning all the time! wink.gif

IIRC you can't post reviews on OCN unless you are sponsored or something. I forget the details but you need permission.
Guys - the Home page has all sorts of Review compilation threads at every launch. Posting a link to a product review does not appear to be specifically forbidden in the TOS (unless, apparently it is a link to your own personal website)

This, you have to be cautious if you're running it elsewhere
post #1255 of 1961
Someone in the old country asserts that a good 6700K can boot 5ghz 1.45V AIR cooled. I had a few 6700k under my super duper intel stock cooler but none of them can handle even idle heat when pushing voltage over 1.4V.

On the contrary when using a normal AIO even 1.5V is possible reaching frequencies over 5GHz (clearly not xtu stable).

What is you experience so far with these CPUs overclock wise?
Its 5ghz under 1.5v i am pretty sure.

But my no boot at 1.48chip scales better than my1.46v chip so ymmv

As far as tos for reviews, forsure, i thought i remember it saying you couldnt submit a review unless you had permission. Must only apply to people with reviews elsewhere
post #1257 of 1961
I have more chips to test. I am a week behind since I got sick.

(1)my 1.35v @ 4.8ghz is at SL getting delidded
(2)my other chip showed up yesterday(needs delidded and realbench tested but its 5ghz @ 1.42) and the other (3) just got shipped(VID 1.2v
5ghz boot @ 1.385v
5.1ghz boot @ 1.455v
CB15 49@1.385v)
(4)my other one that is delidded did 5ghz at 1.41 r15 predelid and I haven't tested it enough yet. just played with it for a half hour last night.
(5)5ghz @ 1.46boot(for sale)
(6)4.8@ 1.42v(sold)

I think I have a setting in bios keeping me from 5.4

I think I have one more chip to ship to SL for delid.... tired of waiting for shipping
one just shipped from Scottland so 1-2weeks

Best Bang for the buck boards wink.gif
Running ASRock Extreme 6 under mine. Flawless so far.
Best bang for buck as far as real BANG is the asrock oc formula. I like it more than the msi titanium

I've been playing around with a few different z170 boards... and the ASRock OC Formula is my favorite overall.

Not to say any of the boards I have are bad.. I just like the OC Formula the most. Likely due to the layout of the board (where things are) and the fact that what it does have, fits my needs perfectly.

For reference I have laying around... Asus Maximus VIII Hero, Ranger and a Sabertooth. Along with a Gigabyte G1 and an ASRcok Extreme 7+.
