I put dielectric grease in my ram slots and cover the ones i'm not using. Frost usually won't cause a problem. Water does. I have had sticks frozen solid into the slot with no ill effects.

So hi everybody.
After i have my titans stable now im just confused about my 6700k. Im on 4,5 Ghz with multiplier on 45 and Vcore set to 1.3 stable but at the low fft (8ffts 80° 16ffts 84° ?) on prime 95 im coming to 84 ° it's a watercooled custom rig but i was never sure about if i put to much thermal paste on it what you guy's think, to much ? (i think so :/) and if im tryin to get higher with the Multiplier im just have to increase to Vcore to heavy 4 my opinion it's on x48 like 1.42 Vcore this just unholdable with 102 ° (just stopped by pulling out the Network cable ^^) so should i rerplace the paste or cut of the head from the cpu i never done this bevor and im quite afraid of so im just asking what you guy's thinking about all this stuff (normal idle is 27-30 ° and prime normal with kind of higer fft's than 8 im on 65 ° and over 300 like 59°)

So what are u thinking Go higher and change past and/or cut the head off or let it at 4,5 Ghz with those temps ? im just asking because i really want to go higher but i never done extrem oc's like cut the head off and i just would do it if you guy's think i can reach with this chip the 4,8 stable on acceptable temps. ^^

LG Sylord smile.gif

PS: If someone has Skype or is from Switzerland and can Write with me in PM german i would gave him a hug. wink.gif I'm a kind of Ashamed of my grammatik skills in english i hope you guy's wont kill me for that. smile.gif

PSS: May i Should add a second D5 in my Watercooling rig ... im not shure about that i have just to less experience with things like this i've readed a lot but thats just theorie and bevor im trying and giving my money out i wan't to torture you with my english Words and maybe noob questions 4 you. smile.gif

Try testing with AIDA64 stability test and see how your temps fall. The new P95 has a heavy AVX2 load which is kind of unrealistic in everyday computing. So depending on the use of the machine you may not need that type of stability.

Alright but what you're thinking im now on 1,25 vcore fixed and it jumps on 1,296 sometimes under prime 95 max temp was 76 on one core other70 :/ im just not sure if i should remove the cooling block and set it up again with new paste and stuff it's not easy for me to get those things thats why im hesitate (im in Clinic details you haven't to know ^^) may i just have to make some other settings in the uefi too ? im just kinda confused when i hear about all those temps other people have and i don't want a bad chip that would really enoying me. smile.gif (in cause of a bad chip i would cut the head off and when i broke it i can buy a new one with a good touch in cause it's not that bad to broke a bad chip than good one either if i get after that a bad one too) tongue.gif

Edit: I forgot to ask i have 4 diffrent microchip upgrades in the bios to chose wich one is the best 4 stability 15, 2D, 36(not sure about this Nr.) or 49 ? (i have read skylake got some issues sometimes on prime wich get fixed with a microchip update.

Hard to say if your paste is good or not. Like I said P95 is a damn hot program for stability so if you intend to game and surf I wouldn't use it. The different core temps isn't uncommon and could be the paste under the IHS. Do some tests with Aida64 use FPU test for AVX instruction and see how the temps go. Post up some pics of HWMonitor while testing so we can see temps/volts etc.. The volts "jumping" to 1.29 is a result of most setting being on auto so the board can still add voltage even though you have it set to 1.25v

This thing about the jumping off the Vcore i was thinking about the Vccos or how i's called i will change it and look again so we'll see hm got those pastes a value Date because its the silver paste with 99% silver but it's 6 years old. smile.gif

Edit: Excuse i mean LLC but on this board it's lvl 1-5 it's a kind of stupid im tryin diffrent one's out if someone got experience with it im thankfull for some advice i have readed it's the best at lvl 2 so the Vcore won't change extrem.

Well , you were given decent advice IMO. Cooling depends on expectations. The higher clock you want the more cooling you will need. A high end Air cooler works almost as well as a good AIO water cooler so just go with what you're comfortable with and want to pay for. IMO real water cooling is the only advantage but that's a significant investment for the returns. These CPU's even at 4.5 are plenty to do whatever you need done. As far as the Memory goes 3200 should be a walk in the park for any current motherboard/CPU combination. I run mine at 3733 CL13-13-13
