IMO real water cooling is the only advantage but that's a significant investment for the returns. These CPU's even at 4.5 are plenty to do whatever you need done. As far as the Memory goes 3200 should be a walk in the park for any current motherboard/CPU combination. I run mine at 3733 CL13-13-13

Thanks for the help I appreciate it, I read your comment at the top of the page and thought that was your reply at first.rolleyes.gif

"I put dielectric grease in my ram slots and cover the ones i'm not using. Frost usually won't cause a problem. Water does. I have had sticks frozen solid into the slot with no ill effects".

Ive taken a moment to view your system redface.gif so you overclocked to 6.0ghz and above.......I'm stunned at what I'm seeing on the links you have Ive never actually seen people push their rigs this far expect on the 3D mark leaderboards. Rock on sir that's awesome.

Hey all

I'm a skylake 6700k owner now, one issue I noticed in the bios that my 3200mhz ram was set at 1.5v so I changed it too 1.35v but it shows 1.36v. Its my understand that anything above 1.35v of ram is really bad for the processor?

Also Ive Overclocked to 4.5ghz and the CPU voltage was around 1.42v by default I set it to 1.26v but cpu z shows cpu voltage use at 1.34v this is confusing me also whats the max voltage that intel suggested for skylake cpu's?

Ram voltage is fine it won't damage your CPU. The CPU voltage rising above the BIOS setting is normal since you have all other settings on auto the BIOS can still modify the voltage if it wants to. Try setting a manual LLC level for the CPU that should help.

Had a nap while running a virus scan I found the pc in a dead state after mashing keys the ouse it rebooted and froze in the bios and in windows, I hope this is because of overclocking and not a bad motherboard or bad ram. Does overclocking sometimes do this as in freezing the system?

I also get a system freeze when I use the usb ports, Im gonna reformat as sometime last night windows encounted problems with update some chipset drivers, all I remember was it saying that it had to install them one by one on the error then did nothing.

I set the power for the CPU to auto so far no system crashes Im gonna play some high end games to see if a freeze occurs I dont wanna use less the 4.5ghz on the overclock currently. I don't like the idea of reformatting gonna wait and see if the freezing continues after setting power to automatic.
