After the motherboard stating error code 55 which means no ram installed and a number of failed boots I found the last two slots ram to be the only working ones just 24 hours I got this motherboard asus maximus hero 7 and now its broken mad.gif ram wont even go dual channel, this may be a dumb question but will a reformat help? I mean freezing in the bios and ram slots not working cant be driver related?

Revert to optimised defaults in the BIOS and reattempt to POST with both modules installed. 55 can be training related, meaning the memory is not stable. Failing that remove the CPU and check for any bent pins within the socket, then remount whilst checking for even mounting pressure.

Did all that no bent pins re-applied thermal paste and I noticed that I had very tightly mounted the cpu cooler I didnt do that this time and everything is working normally again I'm 5mins into 4.5ghz overclock and I also noticed I wasnt using xmp profile before when using 3200mhz ram setting I am now and ram is showing normal signs again at 16gb dual channel 16-18-18-38 again. I hope this lasts if it does Im gonna reformat as im worried old gigabyte motherboard files might be causing problems and if it doesn't I'm returning the ram and motherboard. USB no longer freeze pc I pray it had something to do with me maxing the cpu cooler screws.

Update
Forgot to mention that I changed the asus overclocking method in the bios for the intel default version. Also ran a processor diagnostic tool twice with 100% success

An update have a new cpu, ram, 7 fans, new case and water cooling. They refused to swap my motherboard for a new one saying I bent the pins so i have to fork out another $400 for a new one, apparently Asus will not replace it because of that. mad.gif I not a f****n tool who would bend hes pin this motherboard came with scratches on it also on the Asus maximus 7 led part, they knew they sold me this motherboard after someone else returned it and got away with the bent pins, further more the bios settings on initial setup had the voltages customly made, DDR4 ram @ 1.5 when stock ram setting are 1.35v at max I'm gonna go rant on the Asus website. I know I cant prove it . Even when replacing my cpu the guy gave me speech saying hes been in the industry for 20 years and cpu's never fail qoute, "They keep top 60% throw the others away cpu never fail". But he was kind enough to swap it out for me the following day is when I had the motherboard issues had to go to another msy store as I bought it from there and the ram.

The PC works and it freezes randomly and instantly if I run something like core temp but I can run speccy fine and maybe cpu-z gonna get a asrock motherboard instead and send this one to Asus if they ask me for money to replace the pins Ive got no choice but to try fight it, I have witness to motherboard scratches. I never noticed the the bent pins before the **** computers guy today pointed it out saying it will take 6 weeks if they fix it. I cant do that I use my PC for online studies and gaming to keep myself busy.

Also any advice on how to deal with Asus on this issue? And would it be stupid to attempt a reformat with this broken motherboard?

Hello

No need to take this to the ASUS forum as the outcome is not going to change. The issue with the bent CPU pins is between you and your place of purchase. If you would like the CPU socket replaced request a RMA at ASUS.com for your location. Cost will be approximately $120.00 U.S..

That kills me, I will just buy a new motherboard instead I cant afford the waiting time, its time like this I wish I was young stupid again because I would of done a lot more then complain. I feel like Ive been ripped off.

Why not buy a new board, RMA the old one because of the wait time and then sell the RMA'd board?

Also if the motherboard came with scratches on from the get go then you should have immediately returned it or refused delivery.
