Tested my 6600k on Z170M OC Formula, water temp. 25C

Veterens, is 1.4-1.5v an absolute no-no for 24/7 OC on water for Skylake?

Also what is IA voltage and what range should it be in for safe 24/7 OC?

Just built a Skylake rig and want to see where I stop with this chip but don't want to kill it.

Also am I doing something wrong as I have my voltage entered in BIOS as adaptive 1.330v and + offset of .001v but I see a burst of voltage when system starts for both VID and vCore.

VID bursts to 1.380 and vCore to 1.344~1.375. Is this normal? I have LLC set to 1, under load VID is 1.335 and vCore 1.264.

Considering the stock voltage of some 6700Ks is 1.425V, I'd recon at least up to that amount would be perfectly safe.

That's too much Vdroop, you should adjust your LLC until you're drooping about ~50mv under full load if you want to mimic Intel spec.

Disclaimer: I am NOT the most experienced overclocker.

I just updated my ASRock BIOS and now have a little option when it POSTS to "Press X to enable X Boost SKY OC", and I did, and it worked! I was not able to OC before without the "special" BIOS and I had to move on from that BIOS because my RAM was all jacked with it. Did I miss the press release or did ASRock silently roll this out recently? I'm at 4.0 now and have tested thoroughly and pretty sure I can go more. Does any of this look wrong or bad?

Finally got around to building my new desktop (unopened boxes sitting around for a good month). Grabbed an EVGA GTX 1070 Super Clocked GPU to complete the build, slapped it in, and Jesus ******* Christ does this thing tear through games (@ 1080p). Hitman Absolution benchmark averaged 104 fps on ultra settings, Bioshock infinite averaged something ridiculous as well (150+), and all without touching 80 C on the Gpu.

No reply to my post here or in Skylake OC Guide thread, oh well... Regardless, it definitely looks like ASRock has rolled out Sky OC again in secret. I'm running 4.4 stable and I know I can go more, but happier than a clam I didn't have to end up shelling out for a K or different mobo. A little late to the party but I guess I am officially in the club now!

Hi, anybody with a bit of knowledge with Skylake.
I ordered a 6700k from newegg and am trying to find info on the batch.
The batch # is x601c710. I"m curious about it, it's the same place I ordered a 4790k from and oc on air for the 4790k was @4.7ghz with 1.27v stable.
I'm switching mainly for the newer tech, and cooler air temps. Any known results for this batch? I'm mainly interested on air temps, mem opt, and water oc/volts. It will be my first time going liquid later on.

Not entirely sure of that specific batch. Mostly from what I see you need a bit more voltage at 4.7 to run stable, something like 1.32v-1.36 is the norm. Although, some don't seem to hit that level, some hit 4.4 max regardless of voltage. Personally I can run 4.9 at 1.46. However, there is a big voltage gap between 4.7-4.9 I found.

how much voltage does your pro need to hit 4.7Ghz ?
