I don't think he actually bins them, but wouldn't be the least bit surprised lol. TG binning isn't the best regardless. They spend their R&D on hiding the manufacturer of IC as best they can.

By the way guys... can anyone tell me if the asus ranger viii is an equally good overclock compared to the asus hero viii? can't find a direct comparisment on the i-net. The reason I ask is I am not interested in more SATA III slots or so... if they both have the same I only found this when comparing them directly via the ASUS homepage:

Extreme Engine Digi+ :
- MicroFine Alloy Chokes
- NexFET™ Power Block MOSFET
- 10K Black Metallic Capacitors

So it seems the Hero those seem to have "better"??? capacitors/MOSFETS than the Ranger board? drum.gif

Some of us think those are his Binning rejects, but we could be crazy. biggrin.gif

If you want good stuff, look at TridentZ.thumb.gif

TG's DDR3 MFR was good, they haven't made any waves on DDR4 AFAIK.

Lol maybe not crazy but wrong. TG are actively selling these. It's an easy sell as well, as SKL overclocking is very easy.

The GTX 970 tends to throw more ram usage from its own rams to the system rams in order to compensate for the slower 0.5GB Rams. This is especially critical in games like GTA V (and even more so in Watchdogs) which tends to use more GDDR5 RAM than most of the games he compared.

Love the comparisment though and makes me really wanna finally order that i5-6600k to replace my old AMD Phenom II X6 1055T drool.gif
If the decision for the right motherboard wouldn't be so hard thinking.gif

Now if you show us some results with the i7-6700k where hyperthreading is turned on vs turned off and proof that SMT will improve FPS than I will have to reconsider on getting a i5-6600k and opt to get the bigger brother.
Fraps Fps sucks. You need watch comparable FPS.With 6700k i get much less stuttering a much better frametimes/comparable Fps.
for examle witcher3 fraps FPS there is only 14.7% difference 67 vs 58.
But with FLA calculator it is 56,6 vs 41,1fps and thats is 37% and thats HUGE.

And yeah i already finish HT ON/off test.
First on 4.6Ghz where its GPU limited by slow GTX970 and second test i downclock 6700k to 2.5Ghz and run games to see how HT scalling.

Nice. Can't wait to see your results. I only have a benchmark where they tested a i7-4790K in four differenct configurations namely @4.5GHz with 4C/8T, 4C/4T, 2C/4T and 2C/2T. Each of these with a R9 290 and a GTX 970 each at 1080p and 720p. biggest difference was of course between 2C/2T to 2C/4T and on 720p. there you could see some improvements of up to 30 fps. but on 4 Core settings and 1080p maximum of 1-2 fps with HT on (or even a reduction in some racing games especially)

Looking forward to your results. thumb.gif

They are only being sold in the OCUK as far as I can see, so maybe not wrong.

Very jelly... drool.gif

...so I put a 380i block on this 6600K and in comparison to a NH-D14, maybe 5-10C cooler when stressed hard (p95 and/or IBT).

Hello

Could be because warranty is a pain in the backside here in the U.S. Been there, done that.
OCUK, or more importantly Case King have a lot of sway in the EU, they have done for years even when I was in the industry they used to be a problem for me with first tier stockists. They may have a window to sell this bin, but I don't think Ian Perry is binning them lol.
