Case Labs S8 Case Mod Project: Neptune's Lair - Page 2

have to say that mounting the Corsair fans to the flexi bay is not the easiest job in the world, its super easy to screw to the thread of the radiators, but to the actual case itself, it required the purchase of M3 screws, vibration absorbers and nuts, the standard fan screws supplied by Corsair are too fat for the S8 holes.

now I see the two empty bays, I'm tempted to occupy them with something, perhaps the Aquero 6 as the EK XE 360 leave very little room between the top bays and the radiator. Also had to go with 45' angled fittings on the rad and was extremely close to the rear 140mm exhaust fan.

so a fair bit of free time today to put to good use.

firstly got busy with the jigsaw and made an acrylic bridge to support the pump, just to plan positioning of internal components, then its being laser cut to the Neptune design. It will have an under layer of a more translucent darker blue which when the top layer design is cut out and lit up by led's should look great.

then just messing about with pump layout and planning clearance for tubing.

decided to come up with a design for a fan guard for the rear internal 140mm exhaust fan

also got busy creating my own custom fan stickers

these are the prototypes for custom stickers as upon testing the card and vinyl mock ups do affect airflow quite a bit.

still whilst I'm waiting for the stickers to arrive, thought I'd have a play with the blue vinyl to mod the top of the S8

still not convinced i like it, so it might make it into the finish or not.

then got to work designing the layout for new acrylic window panels, they are to be much thicker and rigid than the stock S8 plus I wanted a spare set in case I ever rebuild. I'm really pleased with how the laser etching came out.
