Don't know if 2 weeks counts as a necro thread but I was interested in this monitor because a lot of people are saying that the 55 is just too big and the 40\43 seems a little too small if you're going for 4k. Thoughts?

Succesfully lowered freesync range with CRU from 40-61hz to 33-60hz. 30-60hz actually works pretty good but some games and apps bring out the instability. Works flawlessly and i am as happy as can be. Allows games that dont use crossfire to still comepletly stay in freesync range witb higher settings one 1 card

Yes, it has passive 3D.

UHD490 seller update and recommendation: Accessorieswhole

For those of you on the fence about purchasing this morning and or whom you should purchase it from, keep on reading!

In December of 2015, I ordered the UHD490 non-pixel perfect Christmas week for my brother and received it the day before Christmas. The monitor arrived in excellent condition with zero defective pixels. When we attempted to connect the VESA mount to the holes on the back, one of the holes was "broken" and the screw would spin in place. I took pictures and a video and sent it to Accessorieswhole. I initially asked for a new monitor as it was defective. Accessorieswhole quickly responded to resolve the situation. Before exchanging out the monitor, he asked if I would take a partial refund and keep the monitor. I thought about it and negotiated on a fair price as my brother's desk could not accommodate the monitor (hence why we needed to mount it) so we would need to purchase a bigger desk. He agreed on the price and we purchased the new desk.

All was good until the end of February. My brother called me and said, "there is a green line from top to bottom on the right side of the screen." I was shocked, as I talked up these monitors and have never had a single issue with one. After doing some research, we found that it was a hardware issue because the line was still there even when the PC was turned off. I contacted Accessorieswhole and explained the issue. He ask me to take some pictures so they could see the issue and contact the manufacturer. After several messages back and forth, I was told that the monitor is under warranty, however, since i was outside of three months I would have to pay for round shipping (to Korea and back to the U.S.). My jaw dropped when I saw what the rates (and custom taxes) were to ship this back to Korea (the shipping from Korea was not bad).

I contacted Accessorieswhole and explained we don't have the extra founds at this time to pay for round shipping. He spoke with his management and was able to help cover the cost of shipping it back to me if I would pay for the return shipping. I was relieved and grateful that Accessorieswhole could help out. Accessorieswhole provided me with the return label and FedEx came to pickup the monitor within a day. Shipping back to Korea was quick as it took less than a week. Accessorieswhole contacted the manufacture after the monitor arrived regarding the issue. After several days, I followed up for a status. Accessorieswhole wrote back and informed me they were still trying to get in contact with the manufacture to see about the repair and how long it would take. After a couple days Accessorieswhole contact me to let me know the manufacture said they would replace the monitor with a new one (and that he personally asked him to exchange the monitor), and they would drop it off in the afternoon.

Once Accessorieswhole received the new monitor, I received the invoice to pay for my part of the shipping. I paid the invoice on Friday, and received the monitor Tuesday (yesterday). Amazing how quick it is delivered! I took the monitor to my brother's house and we opened it up. It arrived in PERFECT condition and had ZERO defective pixels! Let me tell you, my brother was excited to have it back.

Sorry for the long-winded post, but I wanted to share my experience with those who are on the fence (or those who have purchased their monitors) to not be worried, especially if you purchase from Accessorieswhole. I highly recommend buying from Accessorieswhole as all my dealings with them have been fantastic. Accessorieswhole surprised me by going above and beyond to assist with the shipping cost even though the monitor was out of the three month window. Acessorieswhole to me has exemplified great customer service and prove to be the recommended seller for the UHDs. I firmly believe that if you purchase from them (or already have) and encounter any issue, Accessorieswhole will take care of you.

So I am able to view 3D movies with that video player you mentioned at UHD550 thread? What kind of glasses do I need? would it be too much to ask for eBay link?
The thing is, I wanted to buy 550, but EMS doesn't support shipping so big packages to my country frown.gif. So I went with 490 model.

I did purchase from accessorieswhole, and up till now he really is all that you claim he is. Monitor arrived at customs in 3 days... now is sitting there due to our country (Croatia) customs funny regulations for 4 days and will probably be sitting there for another 4-5 days.

Thanks for your detailed report! smile.gif

Yes, that is correct. One model I know that works is the LG 3D TV glasses FPG-200F. However, you can use any kind of LG Passive 3D TV glasses. You could search ebay or google for LG Passive 3D glasses and there are tons of options.

Another proud owner of Wasabi Mango UHD490. biggrin.gif

I just have to say.... screen real estate is enormous... no more Alt-Tabbing biggrin.gif

And plenty of things to test and to see if it works.. Has anyone tested optical SPDIF Audio connection? I'm having difficulties transferring audio from pc to monitor over optical SPDIF... also any suggestion is highly appreciated. smile.gif

I see a lot of UHD490 listed at different prices from accessorieswhole (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xuhd49.TRS0&_nkw=uhd490&_sacat=0).

After mailing them to know the differences, they told me it could be different models with different specs. Any info on this ?
