Well, this FaT is the first one I'll be doing without my dual watercooled 780 Ti SCs... Time to test out my single aircooled 980 Ti Classified. biggrin.gif

- Is it like before with certain work units being more productive than others and modifiers like -adv or WU size that I should look out for?

Thanks!

Welcome back thumb.gif

You will have to complete 10 WU's before you will get bonus points for any units completed.
With GPU folding, you pretty much have to fold what you are given, some WU's are more difficult than others but that cannot be circumvented (yet biggrin.gif ).

BTW, make sure you set your CPU to fold on 6 so as to leave a CPU core available for your GPU. You 980Ti is one of the best GPU's out there for folding and i would think that you should get over a million points from it over the FAT duration, you may get about 50K points from your CPU.

Looking forward to seeing what clock speeds you can attain and what kind of PPD you will get. thumb.gif

Me too!! I am in the process of getting a waterblock for it. Once I do that, I'll go crazy on the overclock. I've never had a Classified before but since they're binned from the factory, it should help push it quite a bit. I'll keep you posted.

I've been watching the 980 Ti owner's club thread and there seems to be discrepancies in overclocking with various drivers. Granted this is benching and not Folding, but I'm wondering if drivers play a role in the overclock capabilities of a Folding rig. Has anyone done any comparisons? I'm running the current drivers, but thought I might get better results with an older driver.

You're definitely right on that. I've randomly had luck with beta drivers but then they suddenly do not perform well and then I switch to an older driver and see better performance. It definitely fluctuates. I'll have to see what this current driver pulls in regards to PPD.

More PPD and less power for your 980Ti when compared to your 780Ti's.

Got my third 980 folding smile.gif

I'm stoked! The only thing is that she gets quite hot to the touch at the moment. The stock backplate gets so hot that I can barely keep a finger on it. And that's just with kboost enabled.

I bet your many 980s pull some great numbers! thumb.gif

~420K+ PPD a piece - used to be more but 0x21's are brutal on my OC (TC 980 is still pushing 450K).
From what i see in TC, you maybe looking at 550+K PPD.

You are in windows right? Ask @hertz9753 what he is running, or if he has tried a couple different revs.

I'm sure different drivers will OC differently, but I know for a fact different drivers can greatly impact PPD at the same clock speed. If you ever make it to Linux, 346.96 is what you want for 980ti wink.gif
