Looking for a time card app for tracking 20+ employees hours (and location if possible)

My family runs a delivery and install business, we've grown to a point where payroll and tracking employees has become an issue, of sorts. We have around 20 employees and at this point we don't have a very good hour tracking system, besides a general judge of character and rough communication throughout the day. Basically, the honor system. We're planning on getting 5 tablets from Sprint to put in our trucks that will act as a time clock for people to clock in and out. I've researched a few programs but don't know what to use or what is best. If possible I would like a program that can track location also... By investing in an app/program and these tablets I feel that we could potentially save money in the long run... I've noticed that some apps/programs connect to QuickBooks, which would be a bonus because that is what our office uses for billing.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!

I know FreshBooks has something for tracking time, but havne't used it so I can't speak to whether that's what you're looking for.

Best of luck smile.gif

Ceridian Dayforce is pretty well known though.

It's not that we need a payroll system, we have a service for that. We need a time clock system.

Is it in house payroll system or a service? such as ADP? My old job, used an inhouse developed time card system, about the time Galaxy Note 2's were newish. They had since switched to Khronos for timekeeping. Was a better system for sure, able to keep track of paid drive unpaid drive, excess commute, and hourly OTJ times. They used a lojack type system for vehicle tracking. Trimble is the name of it/co. So they were able to track with the time app too and could cross reference the punch times with vehicle location if needed. They actually did it once and some ppl lost their jobs. We actually used a third app for work orders which was location based as well.

Pretty much whether using a tablet, if cellular, or smartphone you should be able to get location data. My old company used the Trimble for more than just location tho, such as fuel usage and idling times vs fuel usage.
