Hi everyone, I have a question, anyone plz help, i really appreciate biggrin.gif

For example. in this photo, I do not see any HDD, can anyone show me where to mount it if I want to use a big 360mm front rad?

Is the HDD mounted on the other side panel? I could see how a SSD can be mounted on this side, but a HDD is hard to figure out for me biggrin.gif

Im a new one, intend to build a watercooled PC with this case biggrin.gif thanks a lot for help

Would anybody be able to measure to see if an ITX mobo will fit on top of the PSU tray, bit of an odd request I know but it'd help a lot!

There isn't enough room to mount a 3.5" HDD behind the motherboard tray, the only place you can put one is against the front wall of the case, either in the main compartment on in the basement compartment.

I skipped the 3.5" drives all together and just went with a SSD and a laptop HDD myself.

I'm building in the new MasterCard pro 6 and am wondering if the rad location on the h115i is ok since it's slightly lower than the pump. I've heard air bubbles can cause problems when the rad is lower than the pump. Is this something I need to worry about? I tried to mount on top but it won't quite fit. Have any of you successfully mounted a h115i on the top?

I'm planning to build a new rig with the Mastercase 5 Pro but it really annoys me that it doesn't have USB 3.1 port on the front panel. Every mobo released in 2017 support front USB 3.1 yet I cant find a case that has USB 3.1 port on it except the In Win 805 which is bad at many other aspects. Even the Mastercase Pro 6 and Mastercase Maker don't have it, what the hell does CM think not making a front panel with that port for those cases ? Do you guys think they will release a front panel with usb 3.1 as a upgrade compatible with the Mastercase Pro 5 ? (the Mastercase Pro 6 is not available where I live yet)

I've mounted a 280mm rad at the top of my MasterCase Pro 5 (MasterLiquoid Pro 280). You will need to mount the fans on TOP of the radiator, as the radiator will be too long to fit in the top fan mounting bracket. It was also a VERY tight fit with my motherboard, requiring a bit of effort to manuver the radiator into place and mount everything.

As to the front mounting; mounting the rad. with (A) the hoses at the top and (B) with the rad completely below the pump will put air in the pump. The hoses should be at the bottom, and the rad should at least be partly above the pump. Asetek (which designs most of the pumps in AiO coolers, including Corsair's) has a video about this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT_u_eLVoIc

I haven't seen any plans from CoolerMaster to release a USB 3.1 upgrade accessory, or to revise the cases to include USB 3.1 out of the box. Considering that CoolerMaster still hasn't released accessories for the product line that were demonstrated at the end of 2015 (and the upgrade parts to go from a Mastercase/Mastercase Pro to a Maker are only offered in bundles currently), I wouldn't personally put much faith in them offering USB 3.1 anytime soon, and if they did, it may not be available as a stand-alone product.

Isn't it the worst time to build a pc now ? I wont be able to use what the z270 mobos have to offer unless im willing to buy a whole new case again in about a year ?

Btw, regarding radiator mounting positions, so you mean theres no way we can safely have an aio cooler with rad mounted in the front without throwing the odd cage away ? Damn thats a bummer because the ability to keep that drive case is one of the main reason i planned to go with mastercase.

I ended up moving the rad up a little bit and putting a third intake fan below in. I want to put a hybrid cooler on my GPU with a rear exhaust so the top of the case will be too crowded if I had the CPU rad up there too. Is the hose position ok or should I flip it and have the hoses at the bottom of the rad? It seems like it would be too far below the pump like that. Thanks for the help guys!

Really, there just aren't many devices that take advantage of USB 3.1 yet, so there isn't much incentive to add it to cases. Even the Type "C" connectors haven't taken off yet. You could always just add a USB 3.1 5.25" bay front panel, but that isn't a great option either from an appearance perspective.

Yep, not too much exciting in PC hardware for a number of years now outside of GPUs, SSDs and storage interfaces, in my opinion. The PC I rebuilt into the MasterCase Pro 5 is based on an i7-970 from September 2010, and I haven't found any compelling reason to replace the CPU or Motherboard. I have upgraded almost everything else, but the CPU and Motherboard are still relevant for what i use the computer for. For a couple of years I have wanted to upgrade, but I just can't justify it from a performance perspective.

Yeah, it would seem that way. Everything I have ever read leads me to believe that the best way (or at least the manufacturer recommended way) to front or rear mount a radiator is to have the hoses on the bottom and at least part of the radiator above the pump. I'm sure there are drawbacks to this mounting layout as well; for instance, if the hoses are below the pump, any air that is already in the pump likely will stay there. I imagine the best thing to do would be to try it and see if the pump gets noisy from air.

I've never mounted a radiator in the front or back at all, I have always used the top mounts in cases for my liquid coolers. Like you, one of the reasons I wanted the MasterCase Pro 5 was because it offered 5.25" drive bays, unlike many newer, premium cases. In the MasterCase Pro 5, with 2 front-mounted intake fans, I use the radiator fans in the top of the case as exhaust. I prefer this because, even though CPU temps. MAY be a couple of degrees hotter, the rest of the system stays cooler since hot CPU air isn't being dumped back into the case. Everyone basically has their own opinions on this sort of stuff though, and in the end it mostly seems to come down to personal preference.
