Yes, I can run them through our standard tests to see what frequency they achieve if you'd like. Let me know when you make your order.

I'm thinking of sending my 4790k to be delidded but I don't know if it'd be worth it in my case, I used to own an AMD rig so I'm not so familiar about intel usual temps and voltage but...

At 4.4GHz - 1.184v core - 4.4GHz cache with 1.296v and 1.8v cpu input I am 100% stable throught 15+ hours of Intel Burn test after 50 passes at maximum stress level and I have max temperatures of 82c on the hottest core with an H50 on 28c ambient temperature.

Would delidding this particular 4790k yield any improvement?

Delidding should allow you to use a little more voltage while staying within your comfort zone on temperatures. It's up to you to decide if the potential 4.5GHz is worth it or not.

Intel Burn test

Heya, you should read this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1411077/haswell-overclocking-guide-with-statistics/

IBT uses an extremely outdated version of Linpack, it's not very good for testing. It's still very hot though, and hotter temperatures do not mean require more Vcore to be stable. Some loads run 25c cooler than others yet the colder load will require more vcore.

^Linpack hitting 100c while x264 doesn't pass 56c on the same CPU, cooling and voltages, manual voltage.

This wasn't the case on your older AMD CPU's where Linpack was both better stability test and ran far closer to normal temperature loads - very few people use that test for Haswell.

f you're using Linpack for some reason (probably worst case thermal testing) then it's best to use the up to date version from Intel; not IBT, which hasn't been updated for 3 years and doesn't include the new instruction sets that roughly doubled linpack performance (though vastly increasing power draw and temps at the same time)

what's the Intel version of li pack? Intel extreme test?

The intel version of linpack is just.. linpack. It's a download from some Intel website. "IBT" is a really old package and not very good.

That's very reassuring, I am too big a wuss to try doing it myself on this particular chip.
