Gigabyte Z170 \ H170 \ B150 Discussion, Help and Owners Club ( Ultra durable and Gaming editions ) - Page 151

I wish more people used SecureBoot so that we could get a better picture of this issue. I haven't heard anything back from Gigabyte yet, but a couple of weeks ago I mentioned it again to the rep who posted in this thread. Usually Gigabyte support is quick to let me know if they fail to replicate an issue, so I take the lack of a response to mean that they probably know something's up.

Got another case report from a user in the LTT thread, on a Z170X-Gaming 5. This one is slightly different, because they claim it was working initially and only entered the loop following a CMOS reset (same Code 97 loop).

I bought a z87 Gryphon, only to get stuck with the frozen RTC clock bug, which Asus handled very poorly (even though it was a well reported bug with a huge thread on their forum). I waited months for a fix, and then gave up and ditched the board.

Then the last board I get before these designares was an X99-M WS, and that thing was messed up too. WHEA logger PCI bus errors flooding in constantly. I never did figure out whether it was faulty or a BIOS bug (I suspect the latter), but I was forced to return it.

Depending on how the designare BIOS matures, my next board might be from MSI.

I am really confused I do not know what should I do , I am thinking to buy i7 7700k " my mind says no diff" or change motherboard , I want to feel my games run very well, I do not want more fps I do not want to feel like my games slow motion or delay

I fixed my usb error in the device manager by loading the thunderbolt drivers and reflashing the thunderbolt firmware downloaded both on the gigabyte page for the gaming 7. Never had to do that before I went from F8 to F21.Done know if this will fix anyone else problem

Hey guys, i was wondering, i have a Z170 HD3P motherboard,

And as i'm such a genius i accidentally erased my windows install this morning, so you know the drill, drivers installation and all that....

Then i saw on Gigabyte Website that a new Bios (F21) came out for my mobo. :

i just wanted to know if one of you have done the latest Bios update (F21) which bring some Vcore ajustement as Gigabyte claim on their site, does it improved your OC capabilities ?

I can go up to 5Ghz (1.505vcore, shown as 1.488 in CPU-Z) with my 6700K with the bios that came with my mobo which is F5 if i recall correctly.

i wonder if i'll need less vcore for the same speed with the F21 bios... whistle.gif

That's the same voltage fix BIOS that we've been talking about. It's the equivalent of the Designare's F22, and reduces the default voltage. If you were setting the voltage manually, then I doubt it's going to make any difference to you.
