Yes i set the voltage manually thumb.gif

If you don't have any problems with your current Bios i highly recommend you dont update to the new bios , you cannot downgrade from the new bios if it has problems with your setup .

On the new bioses f21 I've have USB 3.0 AND USB 3.1 errors which was a pain to sort out , i had to reflash the bios twice and also reflash the Thunderbolt controller to get everything working again .

Actually you can downgrade from an F2x bios to the previous older style bios, by using the FPT Z170 Tool for DOS (with bootable USB).

Yes you can ,but for the less knowledgeable user this could become a problem , plus with the downgrade there are reports of problems with the Intel NIC mac address be retained after the downgrade so if you dont make a note of it before the flash it could level you without internet access on the Intel nic thumb.gifsmile.gif

No that's not entirely correct. The issue with the tool and an Intel NIC is that by default, the tool overwrites the MAC Address on an Intel nic with a predefined set of numbers.
The nic still functions perfectly fine, except your original MAC Address is now overwritten in the bios.
However with the link i have provided, it includes a readme that shows how to modify the bios file you are flashing with the tool, to include your original MAC Address your board comes with. Plus even if you ran the tool and over wrote your MAC Address, you can still correct it, as the original address is also on a sticker on the board.
As for flashing the bios itself with the tool, it is extremely easy and once you create a bootable USB stick, using RUFUS for example, then you just boot up from the USB and the tool runs automatically and restores the previous version.
The included readme file contains all the easy to follow instructions that make the process very simple. thumb.gif

This talk of MAC addresses made me suspect that F22 changed them on my board, and that's why Windows got deactivated. I checked them against the sticker on the board and they're still the same, so I wonder what caused Windows to deactivate.

I think I had (have) the same issue... I randomly get this if the machine is powered off for long periods (usually over night)....

The only way to rid this is to completely power off the PC, which also means removing to power cord. Quite annoying.

As for Thunderbolt, I'm not even sure mine is working as it doesn't even show in Device Manager, even when choosing "Show hidden devices" Some say you need to have something plugged into it to show, but I saw a MS article saying it still should show if you choose show hidden devices. Doesn't work here. And I've uninstalled, and reinstalled the TB software and re-flashed the controller a few times. No go. Since I don't use TB, it's not a big issue unless it's causing the above error, which I suspect it is. I could disable it in the BIOS but I would like to get it fixed. GB Tech was supposed to get back to me, but that hasn't happened. And that was 2 weeks ago.

Another weird issue I've seen since going with the F21 BIOS, is since I run a TPM module, I'll randomly (not very often) get hit with needing to provide my module key before I even get to Windows. Again, only happens if the machine has been powered off for long periods. However, I've not seen this one in a while so I'm hoping it's gone.

Anyway outside of those wield issues, the machine appears to be running fine.

Hola! First time poster here.

I have a z170x-Designare board. Does anybody know if the new f22 bios version fixes the bug that made processor run slow when disabling turbo boost?

Thanks
