Gigabyte Z170 \ H170 \ B150 Discussion, Help and Owners Club ( Ultra durable and Gaming editions ) - Page 7

So I got my GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 together with a 6700k. But like someone in the beginning of the thread said, the CPU Clock Ratio option is grayed out... the only way to overclock are the predefinied overclocking profiles... Tested with Bios F4 and F5e, no changes :X

I think you have to first change an option that is something along the lines of "Manual Tuning" because by default, it uses the CPU spec

Try BIOS F4b

Where did you get this from. Gigabyte's official site sites only F2, F3 and F3d

What GT motherboard are you talking about?

I would not recommend a G7 unless you're actually going to use it's features on a regular basis.

Why not the Gaming 7 or at least a Gaming 5. They are sweet looking.
The only difference between the Gaming 7 and the Gaming GT is the GT has Q flash and and voltage points to monitor your voltage manually. At least that's all I can see.

The Gaming 5 is scaled down just a tiny bit and $50 cheaper. It has more Black in it and less white.

Hmmm...i have the exact same board...have you switched off the turbo? Btw: you cannot press enter then press multiplier but you when you get to the cpu multiplier just enter the number you want on the keyboard and make sure the num lock is switched on

Btw: what voltage do you need for the 4.5ghz? have you changed other voltages ?

Oh boy.. Well... I honestly didn't think of that... It works with +/- and numpad... thanks!

I didn't change anything for 4,6 ghz, just used the predefinied profile, I don't know if it changes voltages as well or just the multiplyer. AIDA64 stability test runs fine with 4,6 ghz at roundabout 50 Celsius with my scythe kotetsu CPU fan. 4,7 runs with aida64 as well, but if I try to run cinebench with 4,7ghz, win 8.1 bsod's with machine check failure, what translates to instable system... so I will use 4,6 for now, till I get to know all the settings a little better.
