Hi stasio ,
Do you have any idea when we might see a non beta bios eg f7 final for the GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 board , i'm on f6 as this is the last non beta , and sometimes when a overclock is applied i have a cold boot issue when the board will fail to post properly and kick you into the bios instead of continuing to the O/S ,but once in windows everything is 100% stable .If i'm running in stock there is no such problem ,only when there is a overclock (small 4.4) do i suffer this and only form a cold start , restarting is fine .

Many thanks smile.gif

I'm sorry to piggy back on this but I'm really curious and you seem to be the only one who would know

Z170X-Gaming 7 had an option under Chipset called ENABLE DSP. Was present back in F3. Missing since at least F5. Do you know what happened to it and why? Is the setting set to Enabled or Disabled before being removed as an option?

F6k is latest with DSP option for Gaming 7.
I really don't know why they removed, try to ask GB Technical Support.

Hello Guys ,

I'm about to get a Z170 Gaming 3 tomorrow .
here Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3

I have already 1 Dimm of HyperX Savage 8GB DDR4-3000MHz (HX430C15SB2/8) and im gonna get 1 more later (maybe in May).

Questions

1) Is there anything to consider about the Mobo ?
My other options was
a) for budget : Gigabyte Z170 HD3P
b) same price tag : Asrock z170 EXtreme 4
c) more to pay : Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

2) Can we still overclock a NON "K" series with this board ?

3) If OC its possible , what version of bios do i need and where to find it ?

4) Looking around the Gigabyte site i found another version - Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 EU except the Game key is there any ( in detail ) other deference ?

Tnx

I've got a GA-Z170X-Gaming G1 motherboard. I'm currently running two GTX 980 Ti Gigabyte G1 Gaming 6GB Edition SLI (x2) in slots PCIEX16_1, PCIEX16_2. Both are air cooled and running nicely. I'd like to add a third, but in any configuration with a third air cooled card it wouldn't work because of the close spacing of the slots. . I just spotted a water cooled MSI card (Corsair Hydro GFX Liquid Cooled Graphics Card 980 TI 6GB} with specs (clock speeds) almost identical to the Gigabyte cards. I thinking of a setup leaving the first Gigabyte card in PCIEX16_1, the new water cooled MSI card in PCIEX16_2 and the second Gigabyte card in PCIEX8_2. This would leave the air cooled cards with breathing room and only confine the water cooled one which doesn't need to breathe as much. This setup powers 3 Qnix 2710s so I'm thinking to have each monitor (Dual link DVI) plugged into it's own card would be an ideal SLI configuration. The Gigabyte cards are not reference so water cooling them would be pricey, so this is the cheapest way to run 3 cards in SLI. Does 3-way SLI work with skipping the second slot and populating slots 1,3 and 4?

Thank you for letting me know which is the last one with that option.. I wish Gigabyte would release change logs so I know what I would be losing if I step back to F6K. All I know is DDR Compatibility and the Skylake Prime95 bug.

You can't plug them into each card and have SLI. For SLI, all monitors need to be hooked up to the primary card.

I would hold of spending that kind of money since the next generation is right around the corner

That's a myth that keeps getting perpetuated. I ran my three Qnix2710 (Dual Link DVI only) in NVIDIA Surround for two years using two EVGA GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB with two monitors plugged into card 1 and one in card 2 all into the DVI ports. Currently, I'm running the same configuration with the GTX 980 Ti Gigabyte G1 Gaming 6GB Edition SLI (x2). I plan on running the three cards in Surround with a monitor plugged into each card. Here's the Surround Configuration Tool site:
