Chrome>settings>appearance right under home button is a link called change for home page.

Set it to what ever you had it before I am guessing https://encrypted.google.com

I performed an internet search for "http://search.safefinder.com/?st=sc&q=" (don't click this), and this is one of the results:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfsMuthOGds (3:24, 720p available, it's nothing but video and music so I recommend muting your sound heh)

The title is: "How do I remove http://search.safefinder.com/?st=an&q= from Google Chrome"

For some reason, he is demonstrating the solution in Windows' Safe Mode. Whatever works, though.

Here are the rest of my search results:

https://classic.startpage.com/do/search?&query=http%3A%2F%2Fsearch.safefinder.com%2F%3Fst%3Dsc%26q%3D&abp=1

From now on, when you install anything, always choose the Custom or Advanced installation type - never Express or Recommended or whatever. This way, you will be guaranteed to see the piggyback garbage like this and you can uncheck it!

Unfortunately, it's not that simple.
