Hi there everyone. I have the money to buy it and sell off all my current rig parts to help pay for the costs. Any objections? Here's the specs on how I want it to be. Last night I was up way to late to post the proposed actual build. So I ask what x99 build would you recommend me for me? Please help me! It's been a few years that I've been out of there PC building field since my current rig will stay put and I'll just build a new one. Throw me some of your ideas please. This what I'll need: CPU, GPU 980Ti or R390x, PSU at least 1000 watts or more, Ram 16GB at the least, Case full tower, CPU Cooler, and optical drive. If I've left anything out please add it in for me. Order will be this week, My budget is $2000-$2500! What kind of rig can I build with this budget?

I know I can trust you guy's with your help and input. Fire your dream rig for me. And maybe it'll be my rig. Thank you guys!

I picked the new skylake cpu, better price /performance for gaming. I only did a 650W power supply as unless you are planning on adding another gpu, there is no need for a 1000W. The rest is pretty straight forward.

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($359.99 @ NCIX US)
CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GTX 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($139.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($227.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($269.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($199.89 @ OutletPC)
Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($193.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB Superclocked ACX 2.0+ Video Card ($669.99 @ Amazon)
Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower Case ($129.99 @ Micro Center)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($96.50 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG WH16NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($54.89 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OEM (64-bit) ($138.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $2482.10

That's cutting it pretty close! I want to see some x99 builds. And I'm probably going to buy all my components at NewEgg. I'm in California so it's way easier to order from them. Also been a customer of theirs for years. Nice build by the way. Keep them coming! Thank you!

Last night I did order the PSU. I ended up going with this EVGA Supernova GS 1050W. SLI and X99 are power sucking machines. So I wanted be safe and not pick a cheap PSU that can't get it done. This one will get it done believe me. And the price was excellent. Now for a case. Still trying to decide what mobo to get. At least I have my PSU on the way. This is a journey. It will continue.

Well, that will power tri-SLI. . .

But more seriously, do you have a form-factor in mind? I don't have much experience at mATX or ITX. If you're sticking with full desktop boards I've been fully pleased with my ASrock X99 extreme4. I don't see too many people getting anything more out of their processors, except magic smoke from all the Asus owners. Those boards seem to be frying chips from Haswell-e it a higher rate.

It would be SLI only. I usually use ATX Form Factor when it comes to mobo's. That's what I usually like. What's the deal with ASUS frying CPU's? Your ASRock is fine for you? No issues? Finding a good mobo is not easy. I'll have to check out the ASRock. Not a big fan of them but I use to have an ASRock board back in the day and had to RMA it back to them. It failed big time.

I'll have to go check out that ASrock X99 extreme4 you mentioned.

I've been looking at this board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128829 I really like Gigabyte stuff. But that ASRock board you mentioned gets some nice reviews.

Tom's Hardware has a good review of some x99 boards, they are about a quarter way down the page. The MSI boards look pretty good.
