****... $800. Wow. Will pass. The BenQ is currently $530. Completely different price bracket.

That price is a joke. It's extremely similar to both the XL2730Z and the Swift PG278Q for much more money. TN panel, 1440p, 144hz, 27", and G-Sync.

That's just the MSRP but almost all Dell monitors street prices from online vendors are nowhere near the quoted price just give it a little but of time and it will indeed drop. In fact, on black Friday you can find that monitor for $630 making only $100 more than the BenQ instead of $270 more and really the only reason why I recommended it. $100 more for gsync is reasonable, $270 is not.

EDIT: here is the deal http://www.theblackfriday.com/Dell-27-in-Gaming-Monitor--S2716DG-/19638.htm

Makes more sense. I saw the listing on Newegg for $800.

Yeah I would absolutely never buy that monitor for $800, totally not worth it for that price.

Hello owners!
I am getting contradictory info about this panel. Can anyone speak to pixel inversion on this panel? I came from using the Acer Predator XB270HU G Sync however my new build has a single Fury X in a custom loop. I am trying to decide between this and the ASUS MG279Q as the Eizo panel is still a pipedream with no price or release date.

Some people had inversion with this panel, some did not.
the panel is EXTREMELY similar to the TN ROG Swift. the part numbers differ very slightly so its hard to say what the physical differences are. The panel part #'s differ between the Acer XB270HU and the Asus PG279Q also, but they seem to have the exact same issues. Callsignvega (who has actually disassembled many, many panels) believes that they are more or less the same panel physically, with only some very minor detail to separate the parts. All you need is an extra resistor or cap or an extra SMD then change the part number ....
Benq will exchange it if you get inversion issues in games.

Could just be the good old lottery.

Someone with an XL2420G had severe inversion in both classic (Z) mode and gsync mode and that panel is identical to what is used in the VG248QE, XL2411Z, XL2420Z, XL2411T (flicker free/144hz), XL2420T, etc, and that person never noticed any inversion issues on his older Benqs...

Yes.

Also, the MG279Q is 35 to 90 hz.

If only they could have made it to 120...thanks. I am definitely going to try the BenQ. The higher top end seems more useful.

Has anyone noticed any strange flicker in freesync on this model panel? Also it appears to not come with a DP cable. Can someone recommend a known good quality cable known to work perfectly stable for this panel please? It doesn't need to be crazy long or anything.

Using this: http://amzn.com/B005H3Q5E0

Absolutely flawless. I needed a 10 foot cable for my setup.

It does come with a six foot DP cable as seen in the pictures on Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014451

Price on Amazon is $502.94 by the way.
