[Official] BenQ XL2730Z Owner's Club - Page 30

Assuming you are getting exact framerate=refresh rate with blur reduction on (and VSync on), it's seeing a double very blurry image on one section of the screen while turning, while another section looks glass smooth farther up or down.

Okay, I gave that a try after making sure hardware acceleration was on as well as aero. Using this test I don't have a particularly blurry section of the screen per say but I noticed that the center of the screen comes the closest to what you describe. However the thing I noted mostly was that on the top half of the screen the sort of ghosted effect was to the left of the ufo and on the bottom half of the screen it was to the right.

I still haven't noticed anything while gaming yet though. I will have to try to look for it harder I guess to see if I can pick up on any visual anomalies while fast panning.

Also visible when scrolling a text. In middle of screen text is perfectly crisp, at top and bottom becomes doubled. Still more readable than scrolling without BR.

Looks like after all Im gonna be getting this bad boy and prolly keep until oled. Got a used one for a pretty acceptable price.

After reading that 1.2k eizo review on Tftcentral, its just another overpriced and unfinished POS with some stupid behaviour of increasing pixel response times at higher refresh rates and all sorts of BS like that.

Plus I didnt see many ppl complain about pixel inversion issues on the 2730 benq, so even though I have a Nvidia card I go with the freesync benq and will just run it @ 144hz non-freesync mode or 120hz with blur reduction.

Games I usually play online can do 144+ fps easily, so tearing isnt that big of a problem.

Only reason I picked the benq over the Dell Gsync is bc I also play some fps games on consoles and benq has this "Smart Scaling" feature, where you can have the monitor scale the image to 23", 24", 20" size etc. Obviously with black bars around, but I dont mind, because the console fps games allways have an abysmal FOV which you cant change, and playing with a default 60 fov on a 27" monitor from like 50-70cm distance sometimes feels like watching tv through binoculars.

This is why Im gonna go with the 2730 benq and prolly run console games @ 23"-24" smart scaling. On the PC Im most likely gonna use 120hz @ blur reduction.

All these IPS gsync/freesync monitors was a complete freaking fiasco, just because the morons at AUO cant fix their crap ahva panel.

Hey Steep5, since u r an nvidia user, and with no use of using freesync, whats you gpu game play frame rate, and is it smooth and no issues if it is under 100?

Any Nvidia user here can share experience, appreciate smile.gif

Best monitor I've ever used. Of course, I can't give a huge opinion on that since I bought my first monitor in 2011. Haven't tried any other "gaming" monitors than this one.

There is nothing out of the ordinary using NVIDIA vs AMD GPUs. You will have the exact same results when not using FreeSync.

Except you'll get a lot of tearing if you can't maintain a constant frame rate with V-Sync.

But why in the Specs page, it does not say Freesync, in BenQ website
http://gaming.benq.com/gaming-monitor/xl2730z/specification/#skip , it says Adaptive sync

FreeSync is AMD's implementation of VESA AdaptiveSync, so they're the same thing.

I would guess Intel will hop on the adaptive sync train at some point as well but I imagine they will call it something else or is the Freesync name open for any company's use?
