Yeah this monitor is truly great and well worth the money. It doesnt have all the blur reduction options as the previous BenQs had, but the majority of gamers will be ok with the 120hz and 144hz blur reduction. Lower Hz works too on this monitor, but it isnt in-sync with the refresh rate, but again, most ppl use 120hz or 144hz anyways with blur reduction. Thats if you dont prefer the Adaptive Sync over Blur Reduction mode in the first place.

Yes the colors and viewing angles arent quite ips-like, but the only 144hz ips alternative right now has a ton of other problems, and more motion blur. In the end, the TN gsync/freesync monitors are still more suited for fast paced games like Street Fighter, FPS games etc.

I agree this panel has all the boxes checked that matter for a gamer and the few points it lacks in are miniscule. Best 1440 144hz monitor for gaming at the moment hands down. The thing even performs great at 60hz for the occasional games that either don't work well or at all above 60hz (Gamebyro titles, etc.) with no odd stutter (probably the panel dropping old frames to update the image) that I noticed with the ASUS VG248QE when it was on 60hz. thumb.gif

yeah I use a ps4 with it, which is 1080p 60fps and the scaling is one of the best ive seen on a pc monitor and theres no stuttering too at 60hz, although none of the 144hz monitors I owned had problems with 60hz.

The scaling options on the benq monitirs are one of a kind right now, you can scale to fullscreen or to "virtual" 24" size with black bars around etc.

The scaling on the benq is definitely better than on the Asus PG279, which I was really disappointed with for several reasons and got the benq instead.

Just found out that when I use that MonInfo tool to read out the whole EDID data under windows 10, one has to use Windows 8 compatibility mode and it actually displays the whole real time data with all extension blocks.

Before I tested Win 7 compatibility mode and it did not work.

I am very happy to see that my EDID is not corrupted and it's also not my GPU - just a compatibility problem of that tool.

Interesting thanks for that. I haven't dug that far because after some manual calibration this thing has been cherry. I suppose it's win 8 because my box says supports windows 8 on it as if that is an awesome new feature. Makes sense as win10 wasn't out when Rev 1.0 of this panel came out. I would still have never thought to try compat mode for such a new piece of hardware so again..thanks. wink.gif

Hi, I would like to join the club, I can post a picture if necessary although it's past midnight right now, any question regarding this monitor I'll be glad to help, Subscribed to this thread thumb.gif

Def. the best 1440p monitor I've tried, and I've tried the IPS 1440P 144Hz XF270HU, which is equal in quality, TBH both have practically the same IQ unless inclined viewing angles becomes a factor, if you're interested on knowing my take on this monitor you can also check my review!

Anyone know what's wrong? I only see these options in the Display Pilot app.

Me again smile.gif

@kritmaster that's what I saw first too when using that software, and made me pretty angry about benq - their software linking is awful!

So you did download that tool from http://gaming.benq.com/ right?

It's a wrong version they link there for the XL2730Z: 2.20.032_RC6

The right version can not be found at benq.com (or benq.de for me) or benq.eu, but only at the special benq.us site.
(non US citizens wouldn't come to that site)

Here you go Version 2.33.026: http://www.benq.us/product/monitor/xl2730z/downloads/

This version shows all settings.

By the way: when I used that other old 2.20 version, it crashed for me when writing display settings via DDC to the monitor and I thought it corrupted my EDID and that it was the reason for the "stuck at 60Hz bug".

By the way 2: that software has some running processes for the partition and auto rotate features. I do not like such constantly running background processes - so one should look if it's necessary to have this software installed or to keep these processes from auto starting when not needed.

I think most people do not have Display Pilot installed - but it's a question of personal taste.
