[Official] BenQ XL2730Z Owner's Club - Page 44

I know this doesn't really make sense but when I first got my monitor I had light backlight bleed on the bottom of the monitor but after a factory reset and color calibration its just not there anymore. I can't really explain why its not there anymore. I would imagine if its there from the get go its there forever but something changed.

The blue line seems to be common for this monitor. I think if it worries you it's best to get a replacement.

Just play some games, etc and if you don't notice the blue line just keep it biggrin.gif

The BenQ XL2730Z do seem to have weird things happen to it because of its firmware or something.

First hand I can speak about when I factory reset my XL2730Z, hold and behold... The Bright Pixel I had spotted from day 1 was gone, a bright Pixel that was bright as 10.000 Suns for over 3 months was just gone, for the first time I enjoyed this monitor without that dang bright pixel, and it all happened after the Factory Reset.

Weird stuff indeed.

I wish I had that kind of luck when buying my monitors. I'm so unlucky that I only buy used monitors and pray that the seller isn't lying, I'm not joking when I say that I have a 95% rate of getting a bad monitor [though I am really ANAL about my screens].

Shout out to Scorpion49 (didnt feel like tagging him for the sake of not wanting to annoy him). He sold me a PERFECT XL2730Z!

How can i do a factory reset?

As I mentioned before in this thread my first two monitors had a blue patch in the middle of the screen which was visible on dark backgrounds and video playback of anything. This time my third monitor has a white patch but it is no way as near as visible as the blue patch which is why I decided to keep it.

Yeah i give this monitor a third chance. Amazon allowed me one last replacement. I hope my third monitor is ok. I could also life with some minor issues. Like the blue line at the bottom.

Have you changed the settings and calibrated colors/contrast/brightness before taking the picture? Make absolutely certain that the BenQ Black eQualizer is off.

Yes, i changed the settings:

Black eQualizer 8
Color Vibrance 10
Low Blue Light 0
Brightness 100
Contrast 55
Gamma 4
Color (R/G/B) 90/98/96

Changing the Black eQualizer to 0 has no effect on intensity of the BLB. Even a value of 20 does not change anything.

Before you send it back, try my preset and tell me if you like it, it's at the bottom of my review of this monitor. Black Equalizer is good for competitive play but it absolutely murders IQ

Mine are these:

You can find the eQualizer setting on the very first menu after you press one of the buttons. Do you need brightness at 100?

Black EQ - OFF
Preset Picture Mode - Standard
Brightness - 17 (adjust to preference of user)
Contrast - 50
Gamma - 3
Color - User-Define
RGB - 95, 99, 100
AMA - High
