I do use a very short 1m cable from Accel though. *Recommended by AMDMatt*

Good news is I might be selling the panel as my mobo is junk and I am probably going back to a cheap rig running 1080 @ 144hz.

My odyssey having my system built because I don't know how to do a custom loop has taught me to build yourself within your own means and don't trust anyone besides yourself to "test" hardware ...especially before plumbing it in to a hard tubed loop...

Wait, how do your MOBO being junk affects your decision of keeping the XL2730Z? The Universe is exploding inside me to know.

The whole build was done on contract so it has to be returned in full. I am just going to buy an old sandy bridge platform off someone and get a midrange air cooled card so the monitor would be pretty pointless for that. I'll upgrade in a few years....after 7 months of sheer hell I just wanna game.

Wait, what happened to that beast of a system you had built? That thing was a beauty.

Short Version: Morons can't fully test a mobo in a bench setting and add my hardware piece by piece and test before plumbing it in. rolleyes.gif

Got it back the third time to hanging BIOS still and now I can't stabilize RAM. I have no idea what kind of tests they run but it took me 5 mins to cripple the system at all stock settings by fiddling with a button in the realtek options submenu. I assumed driver first but after a week of hunt and peck it turns out to be the latest BIOS fixing some problems I had and adding others.

Breaks my entire theme. I was thinking of the Gigabyte White board or maybe go to x99 with something white. It has to be white or the whole build is going back to scratch. OCD is strong with this one.

The best pieces of art are never truly great until you OCD them to greatness.

Just noticed on your profile that you really dig white setups, be sure to post pics of your new setup after its done thumb.gif

I've tested my third monitor for a few days and yeah... same bull**** like the other two -,-

This is a picture of the monitor after the first start:

http://abload.de/image.php?img=20160515_192104oiurz.jpg

It looks nice. No BLB, clouding, etc... and this is how the monitor looks now after 2 1/2 days of use:

http://abload.de/image.php?img=20160518_162327yxu0d.jpg

He has also a dead pixel near the center of the screen and a "panel cut", which you can see in this picture:

I'am really mad mad.gif. I can't believe that three XL2730Z have the same issue with the backlight. Does BenQ even do a quality control?! This is absolutely unacceptable for such an expensive monitor...

Well, Benq's CS has been solid so far. The first guy I talked to was pretty useless (told me to dust my monitor), but the second guy was awesome. Benq even paid for the return shipping, which would have been a PITA as this monitor weighs a ton and the box is huge. It just got to them today and I will update when I get it back (hopefully the turnaround isn't too much longer).

Damn, thats pretty bad.

As soon as I get mine back from RMA, I think I am just going to sell it on CL or something. I know as soon as I open it I'm going to have a defect and it'll kill my ability to use it (and the resale value).

Sucks too, because there are no other monitors out that I really want. I guess I'll wait for a sale on a decent 4k or 21:9 monitor.
