[Official] BenQ XL2730Z Owner's Club - Page 52

Info before buying one of these.

Using a Dell IPS (6bit +dit) UltraSharp U2312HM monitor, how would this panel be compared to colours?
When I saw this screen first time, it looked like White (internet page) was mas more blueish.
How about colour uniformity?

Second question would be my GPU, it's a 970 GTX. Would he handle the extra pixels well? 1080P compared to the 1440P

Many thanks

You get around 30% less FPS with WQHD. How your GPU could handle it depends on the games you play and how you adjust the graphic settings. If you want to play the newest titles with the highsten settings, then your GPU is not enough, to get constant 30 - 60 FPS. Your FPS get also worse if you active 144 Hz.

I did a test with Nvidia's DSR emulation.
I emulated a 1440P resolution and framerates stay most of the time above 80fps. Some racing titles got even above 120fps.
I didn't touched the settings, they just stayed like they where in 1080P.

GPU upgrade will be considered but not sure to go Nvidia again or choose AMD this time.

Waffling on one of these after lackluster experiences with a MG279Q and XG270HU, but $500 is high for a TN. How is BenQ for quality control and RMA?

Got some of issues with this monitor.
With newer nvidia drivers the screen goes black "out of signal" and only reboot will fix it, when I minimize games that run small resolutions. Only happens with this display and drivers before around 362.00 dont have this issue. Screen never goes black when minimizing from game thats on native resolution to desktop running native resolution.
Then a game like overwatch is locked to 100hz, regardless what hz i set on 1920x1080. All other resolutions I get the hz that it shows. Custom resolution of 1920x1079 works on 144hz.

I have this 100Hz problem with many games like I wrote before.
Right now with Witcher 3 (but also had it with Overwatch beta).

I can set different Hz for 1920x1080 on the desktop or set prefer maximum refresh rate in the Nvidia settings for the game - it will have no effect.

The problem isn't only the reduced Hz compared to 120 or 144 but also the worse scaling.
100Hz looks way more blurry because it is scaled to 2560x1440 according to the monitors info menu.

120 and 144 Hz are displayed in 1920x1080 mode and are way sharper and maybe have also less lag.

If anyone knows how to use this monitor at 1920x1080 at 120 Hz in witcher 3 without using borderless windowed and having to reduce the desktop res all the time, I would be thankful.

In borderless I can force games to use the desktop resolution and refresh rate, but not in fullscreen.

Also borderless 1920x1080 would just show a window when the desktop is set to 2560x1440.

For those with problem-cables, I highly recommend this brand called Cable Matters. Very solid quality cables that I buy from regularly.

I use a 10-foot cable which is over 3 meters long and my picture is flawless all the time.

Edit: I see there are reviews saying it can't handle 1440p, 144hz. I don't understand why they all have problems with it, mine has been consistent with no problems since I bought it a year ago.

What is odd is that it seems every vendor tests these panels with different cables as it seems than the ones they supply with the monitor....that is stupid.

which cable do you suggest? I am willing to buy one and test it out. I tried with the one supplied and a cable matters one I got on amazon. Same result with both.

Accel or Belkin have both worked for me just keep the cable length as short as possible.

I'm considering buying this monitor and just want to know if there are any issues I should be aware of? It will be a large purchase for me and will have to last me for years.
