I've get a new XL2730Z from BenQ now, not because of the BLB, but because of two defect, shining pixels. I don't hope the new one has the same problems. So i don't have to let my anger free on the service hotline.

Let us know when you receive the new one (and how it works of course).

Yes, i will post as soon as i have some updates.

But i have to correct myself. It's not an entire new one, it's a "refurbished" one... :/

Do you mean the board/scaler of the monitor? Did he mention something of problems when switching resolutions and refresh rate? That it becomes unresponsive?

Yes, the board of the monitor.

No, he didn't say anything about that. He talked about, i don't know if it's the right word in english, "afterglow". I didn't even know what this is, but he talked in the first few conversations with the BenQ support about it.

Afterglow is a celestial thing so I doubt that was the english variant. My gut says backlight bleed but he may also be talking about flicker though I don't know why as this panel is flicker free aside the freesync bug which for me was fixed a few drivers back.

He says something about that the LED's are still shining for a several time, after the monitor enters the standby mode. But i never had this problem and never heard of it before. And does the XL2730Z even have a standby mode? Oo

I set mine to never sleep and manually power it so I wouldn't know.

I don't know if it is related, but mine sometimes stays black when the computer starts. There is resolution change involved when going from bios/boot screen to windows. I got to turn the monitor on and off then, to get a picture.

My friend now got a different guy doing the support for him, or at least so that guy claims. He has the name of a dutch actor, Jay Koningsverdraag. Could be conincidence...rolleyes.gif

Anyway, they will repair his monitor now. Which kind of surprised me, cause i thought they would replace it that shortly after the buying date.

Just ordered my XL2730Z refurbished ($407) from the BenQ Direct store. I've seen it sold for a lower price, but I was tired of waiting. Will let you guys know how it is. This will be a massive upgrade from my old Asus PB238Q monitor. I still need to get an AMD GPU though. I plan on getting one of the Vega GPUs.
