It would make the sensor feel delayed.

Lol. Yeah small movements of 0.1mm or less? This is barely one or two pixels at 1080P 800DPI.

No one will be accurate at that movement. Anything above it the PTE on the TE is just fine.

Is there a particular reason why my Lachesis 3G (Bought into Above8's hype, and was just generally curious about PTE mice, had never owned one before) malfunctions the second it lifts off of a surface? Is it due to the type of pad? or is this something all PTE mice do? The second I place it down again, it will lock up for awhile, then come back, it feels responsive, but I am not a high ingame sens player (nor even that high dpi either)...I couldn't really be bothered adjusting to that sort of movement style as of the moment.

This new Diamondback is pretty disappointing, I loved my old Diamondback plasma edition back in the day (until I lent it to a friend and he butchered it..), and still have a Chameleon edition in perfect condition, although its useless to me now thanks to windows 10 (need to get myself a Asrock board with one of those fatality mouse ports).

It shouldn't be "locked" after setting down, but a very (very!) low LOD is normal with PTE. Mine just worked fine with lifting and setting it down again etc. However that LOD was so low that even I had to get used to it, and I used Zowies for years.

Do those ports even work in Win 10?

I think I recall someone telling me they did, but it is worth looking into, someone should make a usb 2 add in card with similar software, I would pay good money for one, as I am sure many here would too.

Hmmm...I will have to look into it some more, maybe it was due to the firmware, or the hardpad in use (some razer one)...I was going to go as far as follow Above8's advice and use a matte frosted sheet of glass for a pad, but haven't got round to sourcing one yet.

I've used some pretty low LOD mice before, I have a Kinzuadder with a DA 3G 1800dpi pcb that has a red LED modded into it, the LOD is pretty much non existent...so maybe I should persist a bit more with this mouse once I get a better surface for it.

That's gotta be a defect, because I've owned a couple of PTE mice before (like the Lachesis you mentioned, and a RAT), and I never ran into the "locking up" after putting the mice back down.

Maybe the previous owner has thrashed it, I should open it up and have an inspection, mite be something funny going on with the lens.

Yes, they do (with the latest beta version of f-stream).

I don't even see how people can be overly hyped for this just because it's "Diamondback"

First of all, the dimensions isn't even same.
Secondly, synapse plus posts earlier in thread regarding performance of other razer mouse using the same sensor.
Thirdly, do you honestly expect they care about people who actually wants performance rather over the dumbass waste parents money on new gaymer peripheral every two weeks crowd? The most remarkable feature on the mouse besides sensor is lol rainbow LED. Because since we know red LEDs makes your mouse hotter and blue LEDs makes it cooler rainbow must make it amazing right?

The only real improvement that I'm seeing is that it's true ambidextrous. As the old diamondbacks had ambidextrous shape but the thumb buttons were only present on one side.

Razer has since pretty long been poor products if you look at their history. Obviously the company has deviated from their original "made by gamers for gamers" status with their overpriced keyboards that couldn't even pass basic brown fox jumps over dog test circa 2008-9.(meanwhile the ms sidewinder that didn't even cost half as much passed the test no problems:rolleyes:) I loved the diamondback and even got myself a 3G. Except the mousewheel on it broke after only around 3 months and when I try to send it back? "oh we stopped selling diamondbacks, try something else".

My original diamondback limited plasma still works. Also as other people have mentioned the rubber stuff keeps absorbing oil from your hands and deteriorating over use until it just starts kind of peeling off layer by layer. I've fixed mine by buying some cheap chinese knockoffs and then transplanting the rubber part. It's not a 100% fit but that's good enough, better than nothing.
