So got some stuff done today biggrin.gif

The temporary home for the PC came in (Cooler Master Elite 130) I bought it to get set up air cooled and get the OS loaded on the main drive etc. This will let me load all the drivers I need to and what not, while I wait for the Parvum Case and the water cooling parts to come in. The PSU does NOT fit in the case with the Cryorig CPU cooler I installed. Since this is a very temporary chassis solution I will just run it outside of the case. I also had to bend the metal of one of the corner post to open it up wider and clear the fan shroud of the 980Ti HOF. I also drilled out the rivets for the 5.25 bay/SSD/HDD. It was in the way up top of the GPU as well and I could mount my SSD elsewhere. The case panel will not be going back on. The CPU cooler heat sink and the fan shroud for the GPU will not clear lol. I will load the OS on the main SSD tomorrow and get the drivers I need on etc for all peripherals etc. First case and build and already had to mod some stuff lol. Nothing too difficult though and was fun. I will also handle the cable management tomorrow. Maybe tonight later on if the insomnia is kicking tonight.

Here's some pics, this thing posts ridiculously quiet with all fans spinning low. Can't wait to start messing with it more tomorrow thumb.gif

Edit: I started crewing around with the PSU and I was able to squeeze it in. However there is ever so slightly a tiny bit of pressure that the PSU is putting on two of the rubber anti vibration mounts of the fan on the CPU cooler. I plugged everything back in and there was no contact between the fan and PSU and nothing sounded out of the ordinary so we will see. Tomorrow I will take care of cable management and loading the OS and software etc.

Well, windows keeps fighting me lol. I have freshly made bootable USB with Win 7 various times and every time when I go install it says the CD with the drivers is missing? I'm going crazy trying to get this to work because I have a product key that I can use here to install it and then do the free upgrade to windows 10 without having to pay $100 for Win 10.......

Any help with this would be appreciated. Could I make a win 10 bootable USB and type in my Win 7 product key if it had not been updated to Win 10 yet....?
I believe you have to do the upgrade first and then you can do a clean install. I'm curious which drivers the Windows 7 installation is looking for. Perhaps the chipset drivers for the board to access the hard drive?

Oh hey. I have that MB. It's been pretty awesome so far. There have been a few quirks with it using Windows 7 and getting some of the drivers to work along with the stupid Intel wireless bluetooth combo. But overall, it's a fun board. Let me know if you have any questions about it.

If you go to the Gigabyte website, there's a specific piece of sotware that you have to download which allows you to convert a USB disk into a bootable Windows 7 installation drive that has the drivers you need. All you have to do is go to the Gigabyte website where the MB is listed, go to Support & Downloads, go to the Utility tab, find the software called Windows 7 USB Installation Tool, and it should be self explanatory once you unzip and run the .exe

I skipped the installation of the USB 3.0 drivers when I did it this way, because I think they were included (and also, the installation would bug out if I tried to install it on top of the fresh Windows 7 install. Also skipped the USB 3.1 drivers for the same reason.

If you're having trouble getting the wireless drivers to work with a steady connection, don't use the ones on the Gigabyte website. You can find the model of the wifi/bluetooth combo by going into "Change Adapter Settings" in the Open Network and Sharing Center. I think it's an Intel 8260 AC wifi bluetooth combo. You can download the latest drivers from Intel if you're having trouble with the drivers Gigabyte is listing.

Well it's been a long but productive day. I was finally able to get Win 7 installed thanks to @jivenjune. After doing so I was able to get my upgrade to Win 10 done, and then after that I was able to do a clean install of Win 10. So now just need to setup my anti virus stuff and see what other drivers will need to be loaded with this clean install. This PC is FAST, I am not used to this kind of speed. It's going to be exciting over clocking this PC and getting some benchmarks done. thumb.gif

LOL, well that will be on the way soon. The holdup is me, need to get a custom part paid for so it can be made. All will be clear once the case arrives.

It doesn't look too bad on my 55" in the living room for the time being.
